UTILIZATION
-This is not a tube amp, but the sound is very close! hot and powerful, this is pretty amazing also.
-The sound remains clear at high and low volume.
-The configuration could not be simpler, with the opportunities it offers against the fact that you spend a little time to find "your" sound.
EQ and compression parallel Tube Growl.
Bought-without manual (hand) but very easy to handle.
SOUNDS
He can suit many styles, settings are (apparently) fairly basic it offers a wide range of sounds, and firepower is a true ally!
In the past, only my Ampeg svtIIpro was keeping a clear, docile make a drummer mad! The BK300 rivals smoothly and brings balance.
Nothing to do with the amps' pseudo-pro 600 wattsssssssss "cheap spitting some serious the BK300 is a small bomb that uses his power very well, and Hughes and Kettner out to a gem!"
-I plays a "Jazz Bass Fretless" luthier (made in my workshop) and a Steinberger Q4. I do not use effects.
-I use it mainly (if not exclusively) on my fretless Jazz Bass, I love the "punch" which is rather fun playing enough midrange punch is useful in some passages that require a bit more depth .
OVERALL OPINION
Over 20 years I tried a bit of everything I think, either in store or in concert or with friends, it's going to hartke, swr, fender, mesa boogie, etc etc..
- In my beginning I used the Laney.
Then followed:
- A Trace elliot gp12 - 4x10 'sound really great alas typed too perfect for slap, I'm tired.
- A Peavey BW TNT150 the old series was not bad at all (with woofer 15 'BW), fretless sound nice but a little cold with a traditional bass guitar.
- An Ampeg SVT II Pro full tubes 19 '+ 8x10 cab', a marvel, that happiness, but a price costing tubes crazy, and he weighed a dead elephant, having back problems, I went to Obviously, I sold it to turn me on the lighter.
My concern is to find the hot side, purring and very present in my SvtII (but less bulky) I almost go with Ampeg .... AND FINALLY: the BK300 totally seduced me!
Seriously, when you say "The power and the sound of a stack in a format combo! "This is not just a sales pitch, but reality! H & K has really done it!
What is so special that you like most and least?
The more + + +
-MADE IN GERMANY! An exemplary finish, German rigor is not to say! A sense of security.
The compressor is really nice and the "Punch" which highlights his character (plus it can be ordered from a pedal).
The twitter-is disengaged (pity he did not foresee is also a footswitch).
-The side handles are good handfuls nice, we got a good grip (as track elliot).
- An effects loop that I do not use, but hey maybe one day I will decide "finally" to buy me a rack of effects ..
Its large buttons, old style radio lol I love it!
Less ---
No-casters.
-No handles on the top.
-Ventilation grille on the top, so do not place your glass if it is reversed when we risk disaster!
It lacks a foot control for the tweeter.
-Tweeter breath a little but it happens.
Quality / price ratio:
The price is nine + - 670 Euros which is very reasonable for this quality!
I was lucky enough to find mine on occasion.
The BK300 m'à conquered and if I go back without hesitation I remake this choice! It is a real treat, very professional, I can only advise you.
-My note: although I try to let say 10/10, I'll be realistic and give it a good 9/10.
