I bought this cabinet for the pair to a combo Trace Elliot 130W GP7SM Unfortunately, this amp has an output 4Ohm unique and I intended to connect the 15 "4Ohm in series with the firm. This is what prompted me to buy 4Ohm version. Not yet modified the amp, I wanted to test this 4x10 "alone.
Technically, we have what is called, ie a good 4x10 "which seems pretty solid with handles at iff solid and massive, a gate of the most beautiful effect (but that seems a rather weak but slightly less than on older editions) with vintage logo ashdown well. The 4 blue bowls are very aesthetic. Small flat, you can not adjust the tweeter but I already knew so I do not remove a star
SOUNDS
This is where I was surprised ... méchemment the price of this cab, I just wanted to regain mids and highs (since I had only 15 ") but in testing it alone without the 15" it covered the entire spectrum with a very slight weakness in the treble but really is very slight. The price / quality ratio is really excellent! Compared to 4x10 "such as Hartke BXL, it really does not fade and for a relatively lower price.
With its clean I can reach deep curves really keeping a good shine, in slap, it's a real pleasure, it really was a long time coming with my limited budget: D overdrive sound good slap in keeping Bass, super nickel.
Finally, it retransmits the true sound of my amp with compressor EBS Multi Comp. is one of the best ways to make a very powerful config cheaply!
So I'll head out of the combo box to make him into a head amp only coupled with this 4x10 "
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for several weeks in a group (and indeed all other members find that the overall sound of the group is better with this bass sound, it is said) and I do pa separate myself soon: D
a small feature is the jack and Speakon connectors (knowing that the head can leave the ashdown speakon why not) is fun but not super useful. And tweeter that does not solve is not very annoying
I tried some practice before Essenciel Hartke configs on friends or other groups and that Ashdown is really worth. Anyway the point of view value for money I did not like being surprised that
I recommend it highly to the less fortunate
