Owner of a jazz bass deluxe 5 string Southwestern, disappointed with the sound hollow and "pok" micro backgrounds so I'm the acquisition of two microphones CREL jb52. I said that the size of the microphones is not classic but after a bit of a son to "CREL" the solution was quickly found. So I had two microphones with a cache Wenge (moved from their site) for a perfect finish.
After a quick intervention on the bass with my soldering iron so I, too found all the benefits of these microphones.
The gain is the same but the sound is much warmer. You can spend a microphone to another without having to change all the equalizer settings. The "pok" nuisance when typing the strings completely disappeared and the sound palette is now immense. Bliss. I own several basses including a 4 string musicman, 2 ibanez 4 and 5 string, warwick 5 string 1 and I must admit that since my purchase I am using more than my fender.
If I had to make some criticisms I would note that the microphones "CREL" are heavier than the original and mounted on a low that is, it does not help. If you are tempted by the adventure, be aware that we must change the two microphones or nothing. Mics "CREL" are not compatible, as lots of other also (when the balance is in the center) with the original pickups (in this model of low) Please call for more info, they are very nice!
I also had to resize the pickguard to get the mic but this is the detail with regard to the outcome.
Regarding rappot price / quality I suggest you hurry before they realize they are horribly cheaper than the competition for the highest quality.
my ibanez 4 strings may soon to recuperate at a lower cost! Congratulations.
