fuzzyon « good sound starts with good micro and it's true! »
Published on 10/08/11 at 02:03First two or three things about me, not by megalomania but rather to frame the objective of my trial, which pleases a métalleu do not like necessarily a jazzeu!
I am a bassist of rock group Afro Funck (concerts, studio etc. ..) and I play on an AMPEG SVT 3 PRO with 410 of the same brand ... I play all the fingers that slap in the ... uh ... and I'm so boring with my sound! I hate above all not the slightest crunch of my bass, I like the clarity of a game in the bottom as in the high ...
It's been a while since I was looking for a new bass for my main warwick corvette bubinga me a little tired ears with this sound typical Germanic ... but I could not find my happiness! fender, musdicman, yamaha, Vigier, etc ...
I went to the idea that my good old warwick I have 6 years now I liked most in ergonomics and playability ...
So I got the idea to change the pickups and electronics (knowing that I hate the MEC preamp in WW, I play passive all the time ...)
I do a lot of research (Aguilar, John East, Delano, Barto, etc ...) and I came across the site CreI and I think in time, I ordered the JB morph ... Explanatory speech spoke as if he had been writing to me in large pickups Fender type pickups roots coupled with more modern type WW.

A few days later, I received my package ... microphones and editing are a bit packed like fish in the market (it's not very classy !!!). I am also disappointed because I had posted a mail asking for explanations of assembly and nothing, not one word (if the bill!) ... and it lacks a more nut tightening knob (again no school!), the screws to the microphones do not stick, and the socket either ... HUM HUM!
and I start the installation ...
I took the mounting VOL, BAL, TONE and 2 switches.
I drill two small holes for the switches, tac tac, pof pof ... I desoldering the socket (designed for a plate and not a body ..) I give the original a little bit of DREMEL to enlarge the width of micro holes (not much) ... and voila!!
These chapters are essentially all ls negatives because once connected they weep for joy!
The sound is a difficult thing to describe especially when you have nothing to say!
yes, the sound is balanced and harmonious relationship between 5-string .. we hear it all! without frequency pampers ... beautiful depth of low controlled, comfortably seated in the midrange and treble mix or crystalline or spicy, just present ...
To say I did my compressor is more than just that spoils the magic of these pickups!
Compression is natural and just ... I do not know why there ... Mr. Crel??
I have already recorded a pre prod with my last and we ww behaves like a queen in the mix bass drum ... it gives the boot to the big Caise and a superb base group of a general point of view "frequency" ... it is there before making adjustments ...
