The CX2 is a quip DMX color changer from a 250W bulb (type ELC), a color wheel (fifteen) and another with a score of gobos.
So Martin is a product that inspires trust: the case is solid, well Designed and attaches a power cable of 4 meters is provided, which is much more convenient than the usual cables 1 , 80m (in addition, an additional cable without plug is included in the box).
Aprsdballage, it can be used IMMEDIATE stand-alone mode, by setting the DIP switch some fawn (they also allow Defines DMX address dpart) . In this case, the gobos and colors are trigger on the music via the microphone Intgr. It is very practical when you have no DMX!
DMX mode, it uses either one channel (channel 4 is simplified mode (normal mode).
4-channel mode, the first is used to control the dimmer, the strobe (and speed) and the stand-alone mode. Because you can indeed get the CX2 standalone even if it is connected to a console!
Once turned on the CX2 projects a net circular well of about 1.50 m Diameter 5 meters. The strobe is not got my trs convincing and I find it unusable for low speeds too jerky. This may be the only weak point of this product ...
The channel deuxime can choose from a dozen colors + halftones (half tint n / half shade n +1) and 2 colored filters. The colors are clean, there is nothing to say.
The 3rd controls the gobo wheel. The one has a dozen fairly standard gobos and a frost filter and several gobo "iris" of sizes to "simulate" an open iris. The lowest point is a few tens of meters centimtres 5.
The last channel controls the rotational speed of the color and gobo wheels.
It is worth noting that the machine is just over 5 pounds.
The documentation is very well and complements criterion. It lacks the type of fuse utiliss: Martin APRS query support (very friendly and quite efficient even if it takes a few days our answer by e-mail), this delay fuse s Type 5 * 20 mm 2 and 2.5 A.
I chose this product because I wanted a color changer powerful and complete, even if a bit expensive (about 400), I find it MRIT. I have not tried other models before buying it but I DIFFERENT extensive information on the products (in particular Eurolite).
I for two months and have used in addition to my journalistic tests, once in concert situations and it worked flawlessly. Note dtail one that is important: in case of loss of DMX signal, the CX2 lights. To keep the mind in case of failure of the console ...
In conclusion, a good product that TRS has virtually no default except the strobe I got too jerky.
