Zildjian Z Custom 16" Medium Crash
Published on 03/19/03 at 15:00I bought this cymbal along with a boom stand at Musician's Workshop in Asheville, NC. The regular price is pretty steep, but I bought it slighty used for $110. I bought it to expand my meager cymbal setup.
This is a very bright and brilliant crash. It speaks quickly, then gets out of the way. It blends very well with my ZXT's. It is very loud and raw. The sound could probably penetrate anything you hardcore rockers could throw at it. It is also capable for the sensitivity and warmth the jazz I play requires.

The thing I don't like about this cymbal is the ring. It rings for a long time after the crash. Although this isn't loud, it is annoying to constantly have to grab it when rehearsing. This grabbing totally coats the brilliant finish in ugly fingerprints.
This cymbal is extremely durable. The Z's have a reputation of durability, and they live up to it. This cymbal even looks tough. It looks a lot tougher than the A's.
This is a great cymbal (especially if you can find one that has been used twice and costs $50 less than a new one). As a last note, I would like to request that if you read some reviews, post some so this site grows.

I board in a metal of course but also in softer Stylla00 - one arm drummerPublished on 03/10/05 at 04:40 (This content has been automatically translated from French)It's a cymbal incisive trs, trs brilliant, powerful and a great sustain possde (To give you an ide of sound you can always go Zildjian.com or for those who know the song " immigrant song "the great Led Zep, it's almost the same cymbal sound when making the break and also dernire note)
His only default I think that it is a little "hard" when struck and that's a rather one can use the destination to a rock / mtal because for the ringing, do not hit hsiter. (and I've hit a rather sustained)
I find trs well as to sound effects, the table is brilliant trs.

Also there is a small cot mtallique (at least that's what I think) in the sound. I'd say it's the grain of the cymbal but be careful, do not feel like cymbals ela is a 80 TLEs that sounds like steel!
it's high-end hardware, I think, will last a tarnished!
I would also add that this cymbal is well because I Live in dtach RPET in a large room that serves as concert hall (for 60 people max) and is dmarque much of the rest.
in relation qulit price, the Zildjian and good!
Now I have to say that it is a good cymbal but I think a little too exclusive compartment on the other crash I (A custom 16 "). All in all I think is rather positive, but the fact that it takes me away a little fun when I play, and I must say it is rather intended complter a set but can not play with just the cymbal to crash ....
on this, do yourself a favor if you want a cymbal that have the safe, but taking into account what I said above.
So it will be easy to sell it to the extent that it will dplairait is research!

These cymbals cut through the mix with a very bright, focused attack. I have two Z Customs in my set, along with a K Custom, and 3 A Customs, and these blend very well. I have been using them for about two years. The thickness of the cymbal allows for amazing durability and crisp, roaring sound. Thanks to thickness, you can also use this cymbal as a ride. The only issue of this is the lack of bell, it really doesn’t have too much of one. It is similar to the concept of the A Custom flat top rides, only a crash.

I personally prefer the 16” Z Custom medium crash clean, to keep it bright, but over time the cymbal develops really dark tonal qualities, and the sound gets slightly quieter. The cymbal is really good for practicing musicians who want a cymbal that will last forever, and these are the best cymbals made for that reason. I find that the overtones are lighter than one would think from such a thick cymbal. The cymbal has a bright, short sustain. I love the sound of the cymbal when you choke it. It is like a tamed explosion, which is really good for intros. The looks of this cymbal are also really cool. The hammering and lathing makes them stand out in a set.
The only cons with this cymbal is that it may not be suitable for jazz or small clubs, as the volume may overshadow everything else. Another con is that the cymbal may overshadow the guitars or drums if the guitars have small amps or if the drums are not of very high quality. Another little complaint with these cymbals is that the attack of the cymbal is very bright and loud, doesn’t hold too much shimmer, like the A Customs. So if you are looking for something like the A Customs, this is not the way to go. But I would say these are a really good buy.See less00
