Sabian B8 Pro Performance Set
Published on 05/15/04 at 15:00I bought this cymble set off musictions friend with a drum kit about 1 year ago. It costed $240. i compared it to other cymble sets such as a zildgin zbt set but in the end bought these.
This packadge is great. The crash and ride cymbels sound absolutly beautifull. the rride has a free flowing sound with a great bell. The crash has a great crash. They also have a magnificent shine and come with a carrying bag.
the hi-hats don't sound that bad but they aren't as good as the other two cymbels
these are cast cymbels which makes them good quatity. The cymbels have held together well over the years. They have been scratched over the years but havent dented or cracked, even though I drop them…Read moreI bought this cymble set off musictions friend with a drum kit about 1 year ago. Sabian B8 Performance Pack
Published on 04/12/02 at 15:00I bought my first set of cymbols, The Sabian B8 Performance Pack at Guitar Center. They ran about 185 dollars. This price was a sale price but at Guitar Center they always are repeating this sale. Guitar Center must get a deal from Sabian because u get a hard cymbol case, a t-shirt, a video, 14" hats, a 16" Thin Crash, and a 20" Ride. Also, Guitar Center gives you a free 14" thin crash for purchasing the set. Its a pretty good deal for starters because you get a crash and a ride instead of just an 18" crash/ride that is so standard now in beginning sets.
I LOVE THE PRICE!!! for beginners no other cymbol set should be bought.

What I don't like,,,hmmm hard question. I dunno if this is just my stick control, but it seems like sticks dont bounce well off these cymbols. But thats probably just me. Other than that, I love the cymbols.
The Construction is excelent with these cymbols. They are pretty thick and dont look flimsy at all. The crash I think sounds good. Im not sure if there is a difference betweeen the regular crash and the thin ones provided with this set. The Crashes have very fast response but are pretty durable even if they are called "thin". All the cymbols have large enough bells to ride on them pretty well for those of you out there who play some more latin influenced music or just like that bell sound. I like the ride, but it is not a very crashible cymbol. The hats have a pretty good chick, but not as definite as it should be.
The bottom LIne is: Buy These Cymbols If You Are A Beginner~Definitely! You have to go to Guitar Center to get the price of 185 dollars, because at most other stores they are more expensive and are only the cymbols in a cardboard box. I know a friend who paid 400 dollars for them and he didnt even get a case or anything. For the more expert players, I would recommend these as maybe a backup set or maybe as an add-on. These cymbols are a great price and are worth every penny of it.
