Avid introduced today its new SL3 modular system for live setups which includes network operability.
The new SL3 live open system is built around the E3 HDX mixing engine and includes the VENUE and Pro Tools software solutions, AAX DSP plug-ins, an evolutive deported I/O box and the EUCON compatible S3 compact control surface. All the cables and accessories are included in the bundle.
The S3 control surface features 16 tracks, 32 encoders with OLED displays and tricolor function indicator (16 assignable encoders, 8 for channel control and 8 for global control), 16 pre or post-fader 10-segment meters, 4 analogue inputs (2 XLR mic/line and 2 TRS line), 4 analogue outputs (2 XLR line and 2 TRS line), 1 headphone output, 2 AVB Ethernet ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports for keyboard and mouse only, an 1/4" TRS pedal port and 2 ports for lights. A Kensington security port is also present.
As a modular system, various configurations are available, ranging from 16 to 64 mic inputs.
The SL3 system features a redundant Gigabit Ethernet network architecture designed to connect all the components of the system via AVB Ethernet and EUCON open standard protocols/
This new system will be available in Q3 with prices starting from 14 800€ exc. taxes. More info at www.avid.com.
