THEN I UNDERSTAND NOT TOO GOOD!
3000 EUROS THE PC "silent"!
Me it seems to me absurd especially for that price is not the right ame high-end components, but what remains on the assembler arm !!!

For half the price I can ride a Grand Luxe ddi PC audio and whisper
the one that would explode at all levels (notice to interested)

There has, however, (for not only criticize without offering anything) for home studio a new formula that I'll test with enthusiasm:
the new blank case antec aria (Micro ATX) 105 euros about 25 Db Vant by the manufacturer and SURPRISE: the offer is growing up in this format with Asus or MSI cards and offering the latest chipsets up to 3 PCI slots DDR dual channel SATA finally mini-PC up with normal PC perfs!

Same Aside from the fanless power supply, I do not think it is really silent PC ... Given the price, this is even a ripoff!

Hard Drive: absorbent screws are not enough to silence a hard drive, the only solution is to be suspended. In this case, even the access drives on a noisy Maxtor become imperceptible. Also the heat pipes are not used, a hard disk does not heat suffisement to justify: placed in the air flow through a well-designed case, it is always the right temperature.

Processor: If a Pentium M is actually a exclent choice as power, AMD 64 equipped with a good heater (zalman example) surmounted a Papst fan 120mm sub-volt is much more profitable.

Case: the case is interesting, with its rack format. However a Standard format can everything be the case, especially if you are handy: cut the front and rear grilles pierced in tle to replace them with round grilles (improves the flow air and quickly disturbances) Paspt place a fan (or Zalman or Noiseblocker, but I dconseille these) 120mm front and the rear extraction, all under-volt ( thanks a rhobus for example) and line the ENTIRETY of the box with insulating foam (the best is the one intended for pregnant or anechoques dirty, but the type Gdicoustic materials available in DIY stores did very well).


Make a powerful and quiet PC is the door to everyone, and do not ncssite a significant investment with the Silent PC. I frabrique you even more silent for a price divided by two or three ... Note also that several more or less known manufacturers offer boxes FULLY liabilities. And notemment pr foothills boxes based AMD 64 CPU and GPU which are reread grace heat pipes to the case of the PC, one or more faces are radiators!

Yeah it's a ripoff for musicians who do not know anything about computers (at least in hardware)
This will perhaps make you laugh but the best solution to not suffer the noise of a PC is to put it in a pice adjoining the studio and do move the cables (VGA, keyboard, mouse, audio, midi, ...) thanks a chute (which it can be very easily and soundproof drisoire for a price).

This is what I do for my PRVU vocal booth (where there will be a midi keyboard too).
Indeed, even if my PC is not very loud in normal pice (silent power supply, housing insulation tapiss) it remains unbearable anchode in a cabin.

The only inconvniant is when you want to accder / CD / DVD burner.
Who cares royally because most of the time we did catch his or playing, right?

For more fainants can even imagine using an external recorder or (for the more stingy and / or DIY) outsource the internal burner (see what is the max limit of an IDE or SCSI cable) for use in the soundproof pice.
