Excellent
This is a digital sound module based on microcontrollers arduino if I'm not mistaken. We can assemble yourself from a kit or like me, buy it already mounted by its designer.
I think it can handle 7 octaves. This is a monophonic synth has 2 oscillators, a envellope with attack, decay / release on the same parameter + sustain on / off on the filter and the DCA (digital amp controller ...), as well as a resonant filter, and a few more options, such as an FM between two CSOs, digital distortion, an assignable LFO pitch or cutoff, an anti-aliasing filter, PWM mod on the first COD and 32 presets ... . A MIDI input, so a 6.35 and a 9-volt power supply.
And also a "hack harbor" for accessing the controller arduino 6 analog inputs for most of you hackers!
There is little soft for editing from the computer to facilitate automation and other es ...
UTILIZATION
Operation is intuitive enough to know that subtractive synthesis. Only downside is the knob of envellopes used also for the LFO rate, LFO intensity, the glide and% envellope on the filter. Must alternate between envellope and other functions via a small switch.
Otherwise, the editing is very fast, each parameter has its own controller, you have everything on hand, and it's going very fast.
SOUNDS
Basically, it is a box to make Chiptune, creaking and many digital sounds. Converters 8-bit, the squarewave and go a little more distortion, and it is spot on!
The filter is not unusual but does his job, and resonance as a small side didgeridoo not unpleasant I find ^ ^ It saturates a bit in the low mids when pushed to the bottom and you go down too much cutoff on the other hand ...
But many things are possible if you love 8bit gameboy grain / amiga / commodore / ...
All the cheap FX through small percussion-based white noise, low mass to D'n'B well detuned, or if round filter thoroughly and that inflates with low resonnance, leads melancholic 90's generation of the base unfiltered squarewave ...
It responds to velocity, pitch bend so of course ...
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 2 years and I go when I need a little special grain or chiptune sounds, or to give me ideas resamplant through the full effect ...
Yes, I think I would do this choice, I'd better blow up another too, to mount myself even thinking about change, many things are possible, and it costs really cheap if taken in kit!
So good value if you take to climb over, a little less good if you buy it already, but hey, it makes life a small company, and the quality is far from being disgusting ...
