« Not bad but not very ergonomic »
Published on 08/13/13 at 11:31Use only scratch (technics mk2 + vestax table). Purpose: to enjoy my personal digital library, including things that do not exist in vinyl (movie dialog, personal records ...)
GETTING STARTED
RAS
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
With a mid-range laptop computer in 2009 (single core CPU, 3GB of RAM) it works pretty well. Being accustomed to analog latency to "feel" all the same. The movements are instantly transcribed, but some quick phases do not give the same feel with a real vinyl.
OVERALL OPINION
The digital sound is clear - I knew the CD player (Pioneer CDJ1000 mk2), and the audio is equivalent here. To do better, should an algorithm imitation grain vinyl but I do not know if it exists at present ...
PROBLEM:
It goes digital ... forgetting the analog! I used to turn on the decks quickly to scratch quarter of an hour, now I have to turn the pc sound card, I open the software, and I remember how it walking ... One big pert spontaneity. Even if I want to play with real vinyl, old, must still go through mixvibes ... or rewire everything! Because we can not "bypass" the sound card.
To win in ergonomics should be able to play live just turning on the card (PSU not included), which then serve just preamp, but this function (vitale!) is not present. Maybe a firmware update could fix it?
