Published on 12/12/12 at 00:22The HPX 4000 are made by Behringer and come at a cheap price. The sound of them is pretty standard though and it is nothing that makes them appealing. The look of them is nothing that stands out either with them being just all black. They can be adjusted to fit the size of your head and they are semi comfortable, because after about a hour your ears may get a little irritated and feel like they have a lot of pressure on them.
The sound in the HPX 4000 headphones is great on the low end, the bass will thump and it is a clean bass sound. But the highs are not very good and the mids can get really muddy when you turn these up. I was only getting these just for headphones to use with my laptop, I wanted a pair to have that I didn’t have to spend a lot of money for and that I was not afraid of breaking or losing. These are very cheap and nothing about them stands out to me. The best part about them is the 6 foot cable and ¼ adapter they come with. Other than that nothing sticks out and makes me want them. I have not had them long, and would take them back if I could. It is probably not even worth the headache of trying to sell them so I will just keep them around just in case, or if more people come to the studio and need a pair of headphones to use. These are not the worst headphones that I have used but they are very standard and sound like all of the basic headphones you can pick up at any corner store for 15 bucks that will end up breaking or going out on you within 6 months. So I do not recommend getting these, you can spend your 30 dollars on a different pair and get way more than your money’s worth.
