Published on 02/04/02 at 15:00A friend recommended I try a Lasido Inc. guitar. He said I couldn't go wrong.Play a $1000 guitar he said and play it against this St-40 - Man was he right! this guitar is made in Lapatrie,Quebec ,Canada. It sounds better than many Gibsons, Martins and Takimines I put it against.$325 usa dollars, -the best kept secret it the Guitar world -if you can find one! I found one in New York City. Manny's Music on 48th st.yes the infamous Manny's!
It has such a delicate top(which is Solid Cedar) that it transmits all the most delicate nuances of a note.-too cool!Thought I'd like a solid sitka spruce top better but this changed my mind, live and learn. Great neck and frets, good solid tuners that...…

It has such a delicate top(which is Solid Cedar) that it transmits all the most delicate nuances of a note.-too cool!Thought I'd like a solid sitka spruce top better but this changed my mind, live and learn. Great neck and frets, good solid tuners that keep their tune. The top is finished in an odd alcohol based non-shiny finish. The manufacturer warns not to polish the top or the tone will become muted-is this their secret? they instruct to wipe down with a cloth sprayed with a little window cleaner!
Excellent playability as well.Go try one if you can find one. It's quite a steal, I'm thinking of getting another one, just to have two!
No dislikes. The top isn't shiny and is soft, so you must treat it with care. It's supposed to grow in tone as you play it over the years.
Simply clean and tidy.
Hard to find but well worth it. Congratulations Norman, don't change a thing and keep making them! I call her Norma. This is a real 5!

Norman ST-40
Published on 10/17/01 at 15:00I was looking for a mid-priced acoustic with a great sound and tone.I had originally was shifting toward a Washburn J-12 but the saleman at Mannys Music in NYC. showed my this very plain, solid cedar top Norman guitar.I really liked its vibracy and action and it's made in Quebec, Canada and was selling for $320! man what a great guitar! The Washburn was made in China and the action wasn't as good.
The playability is good, the action very good, the sustain is great, tone awesome!
Its looks are plain and clean.not a showoffs guitar
Excellent quality throughout. Its a solid cedar top with a honduran mohogany neck, back and sides I believe are laminated mohogany with a center layer of...…

This guitar is made by the same company that makes Godin and Seagull guitars (Lasido inc.),it's an awesome guitar for the money.Go and play one you'll like it too!And it's made here in the western hemispere(support the usa and canada)where the best guitars are crafted.

Guitar made in canada
UTILIZATION
The neck is enjoyable
it is a guitar that you feel good ergonomics is good
the sound is naturally warm, good bass good highs, excellent in finger
SOUNDS
This guitar should be done all my Music-style: folk, finger picking etc.
OVERALL OPINION
I possde the electro then 3 months it is ideal that I was looking for a good sound non-branch as a branch.
The report quality price 565 for a guitar any more massive is called to improve with time is best.
The electronic is simple but effective (Fishman Classic 4) …

Norman Studio ST40 CW manufactured in La Patrie Quebec village famous luthier.
22 frets, Fishman Classic 4T electronics with built-in tuner
UTILIZATION
Channel super fun to play
Treble sound and not bad at all
The ergonomics are very good too, it feels good against the body, a good many compact Dreadnought!
The sound is insane! It lasts a really long time, the notes ring out well, and even a slight vibrato at the end of note!
SOUNDS
Good sounds here are really great, anyway they always choose a folk guitar with its sound because that is his main interest.
So good to have tried even a few days Martin, I can say that it is not the must, but it can compete with Taylor...…

So good to have tried even a few days Martin, I can say that it is not the must, but it can compete with Taylor and Guild good without any problems.
I especially like the bass!
The treble I still can not make them sound good, giving well if I put a minus on the sound, it would treble. Anyway, I chipotte!!
OVERALL OPINION
I have since yesterday. I really love it. I've always played on the other folk with envy, and having one standard low-end, while my game is really in the folk sounds, I wanted to mark the occasion with the scratches.
I do not plan to change anytime soon.
And for attempting a max model before (I tried with microphone but I tried a lot of micro scratches without too), not typing in the Taylor, Guild, Seagull, Martin and even a few, I can tell you that $ 700, the price was good value especially since the guitar was delivered with a TRIC case (which was done for me by the way) ULTRA lightweight polystyrene on the outside and a special material to the yet very strong inside. A new concept of thunder!
I advise you, especially if, like me, you buy it in Quebec, his native country!
So, nothing revolutionary in this skyscraper, but hey, with a tuner and a case not bad, that's what I chose.
