MGR/S6+ Player
« Seagull S6+ Cedar »
Published on 06/05/02 at 15:00Purchased new from Daddy's Junky Music. I was upgrading from a plywood guitar and wanted a solid wood top guitar. Found this baby for $299 US.
There's nothing to not like! It's plain yet classy looking with the mahogony stained sides and back and cream colored binding.
The sound is awesome. Especially at this price! I've noticed an improvement in the sound just in the 6 months I've had it.
Nothing!
The wider neck takes a little getting used to but, for me, wasn't a problem.
As stated earlier, a solid cedar top. Sides and back are a three layer laminate consisting of a layer of mahogony sandwiched between two layers of silver maple. Bridge and fretboard are rosewood, neck is silver maple.
It's handmade so, the attention to detail is outstanding.
A word of caution. The cedar top is soft, especially with the satin finish. Every bump shows!
You won't find a better quality guitar at this price.
If you're considering buying one, be sure to play it a few times beforehand to be sure the wider neck works for you.
