Published on 02/09/14 at 11:55A rare acoustic Washburn made in the USA, the Cherokee is part of a series of "Native American" which includes Apache D51 (3 parts maple back way D35) D55 Cherokee (rosewood) D56 Savannah (Slope shoulders Koa) plus two / three jewels in Rio manufactured by Dana Bourgeois in 1995 1996, and some models manufactured by Tacoma as the Navajo, Comanche etc. .... For those of Bourgeois, less than 200 copies in total.

Dread standard in Sitka / EIR, flamed maple binding for the key and body + for table and herringbone rosette, ebony fingerboard and bridge.
My table is very slightly marked (bear claw) under the bridge, rosewood is beautiful especially for sides
One subject, Grover 14:1, it was better since, but it works.
UTILIZATION
Excellent handle, stack a priori between 1 11/16 of the D82 and 1 3/4 Eastman, held in the hand without being noticed, no complaints. The guitar was refrettée upon his arrival to the USA Workshop Alexander (super nice) so of course nothing bad either
SOUNDS
The sound is amazing, it does not feel great power (although it sends very strong) because the frequencies do not have a hole and give neither the usual carved rosewood or medium bump of the Mahogany is very large, the agreements are very intelligible and single notes are very long and singing, a pleasure if you press it does not set at all.
OVERALL OPINION
Used for two months, a joy that made me abandon the other .....
What I like best: its course, the rarity and the idea of saving a copy not necessarily a good start (reset neck, refrettage easel split ...)
What I like least, nothing if not mechanical, which will probably give way to 18/1
Value for money: between purchase and repairs it is true that I could afford a nice guitar series ....... well, I dreamed about since our first meeting in 1996, a guitar luthier, it sounds great, there is no 150 in the world, so happy)
