Hands Make Sounds is a sample library produced in collaboration with producer and sound designer Cy Brazanthr, aka Girls With Depression, and features 158 samples of claps and finger snaps. The sounds were recorded in 6 different locations in order to capture their natural reverb (from a toilet to a large hallway).
The 62 finger snap samples are organized into 4 sections: snap-close with close takes and almost no reverb ; Snap-Far with samples recorded in a living room at different distances from the mic ; Snap-Slow and Snap-Stacked sound more “digital”. Note that certain snaps were pitched lower for a punchier sound.
99Sounds adds that all the samples were normalized to –0.1dB and recommends using multiple samples in a “round robin” way for more natural results.
All the files are in WAV 24-bit / 44.1kHz format and SFZ and Kontakt 5 mappings are included. The 19.6MB library is available as a free download at 99sounds.org/hands-make-sounds/.
