Tama Superstar Hyper-Drive

That's two years since I bought this drumkit. A great choice with a great color that is much darker than the pictures of leaves appear sites.

I have a Mapex Pro M kit (which I am very happy, but I sent home in Britain) and type "Jazette" Tama Imperialstar kit (useful for small bars, which sounds great). I needed a more impressive drumkit with a good kick and the ability to place my drums as I want.

An excellent kit, exactly what I wanted. Thanks to the small depth of the drums, I can now install more horizontal my kit to be my circles toms 10 "x6.5, 12" x7 ", 14" x12 ", 16" x14 ".

The depth of the bass drum (22 "diameter, 18" deep) gives a wonderful depth (I put it as a Aquarian superkick 2 skin). The short barrels allow for a highly accurate attack but without much depth in the bass, but with a good set of skins is not a problem. I did some recording with this kit in a large studio and give her a stunning result!

For a 100% birch kit, a very warm and deep bass drum, dynamic and accurate toms this is a very good buy!

The only downsides are the snare drum (14 "x5.5") with a metal circle that sounds too in the barrel (I'll replace it with a wooden circle, or thinner and a different type of metal) The store where I bought it (Star's M ***** e) with whom I had déboirs.
At first I bought a display model (for a bit cheaper) but came with a big scratch on the bass drum ... After five exchanges kick (yes all with a scratch on the bass drum and the seller blurted out that it is not normal that it happens "advanced by" me), the store realized that there was a manufacturing defect, though the 5th exchange was given a big deeper than what I had asked cash ... I have not done my choosy and I took it. But I had to wait six months before having a full drum kit! ...

To conclude, if I had the choice between performing such purchase or other, I would choose this purchase, but at another store!

I use it since September 2010.

Before buying it, I swore by Pearl Drums.

Negative:
- One in my opinion: the screw that tend to hang in the key.

Positives:
- Sound: I edited all the skins Aquarian on drums and the sound is really nickel.
- Modularity: Hyperdrive with drums, it is very easy to set up his kit as desired
- The look: my teacher always told me that a drumkit real drums, it's black. here, it's done ...

I think the price / quality ratio, relative to competition and the product itself is really good.
I ordered the kit 6 drums (bass drum, 2 toms midrange, 2 bass toms and snare) and with the hardware.
Everything happened to me in good condition, well packaged.

I would do this choice without hesitation.

I play on superstar for over a year. I play on a config. 2grosse cash tom 22x20 8 10 12 14 16 and 14x5.5 snare.

I tested a lot of the drumkit before it. PDP, Pearl, Yamaha, Sonor every model in the same price range.

+ the drumkit is the bass drum! its a very very big! maybe even too much some times, it really feels to have a monster under his foot! I like to be on this drumkit is also a beautiful finish, Toms despite being shallow is the respondent.

the - a very complicated balance between having a bass drum and toms.

value for money is on top. as usual TAMA proves once again that its drumkit know them!

With the experience and the same budget so I would do is choice now I really want to have a Starclassic maple! So I think the budget is changed and the drumkit too!

this makes 11 years that I play drums I had 3 different Tama and I repeat nothing is super stuff!
