microphone optimized for banjo / dobro.

Micro Dynamics
output jack (!)

fixed on special pliers (to hang easily on the body of a banjo or the bridge of a dobro)

There is a variant, the micro ABS-C condenser, XLR output, which requires + 48V power supply (which has no preamp)

OVERALL OPINION

Practical level, the clamp does a very good job: very easy to attach and remove a banjo (less than 10sec!), It holds well, it can move, jump, no problem.

No feedback, it does not transplanted other instruments (yet, copper, battery, so the noise around!)


level sound is faithful. on the other hand, a defect: it is a serious lack of gain. I still have the preamp / switched boost. And we still need a lot of gain on the mixer.


output jack makes it easy to effect, or systems acordeurs HF behind.
it also allows to plug into the same amp / pdalboard a guitar or other instrument.


I have 2 years, used rehearsals and concert, in a group of ska song (drums, brass, bass, guitar, banjo, accordion ...). I play a 5 string banjo, with metal tabs.


Before I tested:
piezo (piezo sounds too, so flat, ugly, the specific sound of the banjo is not clear)
micro copper: choppait too much feedback, required phantom power and especially the clip did not take, so he farted mouth if I moved too.
micro Fixed: no top in concert to move and problem repisse and feedback.


For my use (banjo, able to move, noisy environment), the better. Next, the model should be tested XLR, he may be more gain. Or test a magnetic pickup?
