UTILIZATION

First the handle ... It is good in the world of ibanez: It's broad, straight, fine and ultra flat. This is a very special type for those who do not know the race of RG. From my point of view it is not better. I am fortunate to have purchased a used guitar very well adjusted. It is perfectly fair, the strings are very close to c that makes it frieze when you want and not all the time. Also, although it is a handle screwed up a router can have no thickening ... A wonder for those who have an inclination of soloists. In short it is the best race I had in hand, it runs itself! The only worry is the time to adapt. The strings are further apart than on most guitars and it's a long tune. At first it hurts the fingers! (Besides those with small hands should refrain I think)

The interface is really perfect. She has a form stratabound, it is perfectly balanced, not too heavy although it is a 7-string. Basically, when standing or sitting, it's always nice.

Finally, I would not say anything at floyd because the previous owner of my guitar was blocked and I never felt the desire to remove the hold!

SOUNDS

It is perfectly suited to my style. I play prog death with a lot of changes in moods. It sticks well regardless of the sounds used, sounds crystal clear, clean or vintage crunch or distortion huge!

I played on lots of different config: ENGL 530 preamp with Mesa 50-50, Hughes and Kettner Warp7, Vox AD15VT, Dual Rectifier, Marhall JCM 900. Whatever the amp, it still retains its personality: its a very sharp and distortion in its clear fenderiens.

Another interesting quality, run to Ibanez. You can have the bridge humbucker in the normal position or Parallel. Parallel position allows clear sounds crystal clear and very very little distortion with gain incredible precision on May 1 in the media.

I especially like the crunch and distortion. The lime gives a little fuzz very nice, and the level of attack is always respected. This guitar has a lot of momentum, especially since all frequencies are present. It has no dip in the midrange guitars metal type.
Add-on: after a while with this guitar I replaced the bridge pickup with a DiMarzio Evolution 7. It's really great: It does not change the sound characteristics of the guitar but it improves greatly. This is even more dynamic with an output level worthy of a microphone and active compression.
8 with the original mics and 9 with an evolution.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it intensely for six months. I do not regret at all that choice. I will not change the guitar to pass on the high end! No other 7-string did comes close (and I've tried a lot: schecter, ibanez saber 7, Wolbers jackson old ...).

Being a fan of Meshuggah, Fear Factory and formerly of Korn, one finds the sound characteristics of these groups if we have time to lean on.

If there is one complaint with this guitar is that I would do all the Ibanez RG. The varnishes are very fragile, so it jumps at the slightest touch. Must be very careful.

Conclusion: If you want to buy a 7 string quality without breaking the bank, buy it for OCCAZ, really, you will not be disappointed!

[add on] After two years of practice I love this more and more guitar. Fearing that it takes a shot of old suddenly, I looked for a replacement. Frankly, nothing comes close. Especially not the 1527 that have a handle less comfortable and less accurate sound, same goes for the K7. Schecter have the logs in place of sleeves, the ESP is less versatile ... In short, probably one of the best 7-string ever made ... Besides, I love this model so that I will like to pay me a second ... If you have one, I took!
