UTILIZATION
For the record this is my second guitar PMC, the first is the Blast Distressed 6 strings is ultra versatile.
I think AF: https://fr.audiofanzine.com/guitare-sc/pmc-guitars/blast-distressed/avis/r.109559.html
This new 7-string model Blast aims to be directed only to the Metal.
I previously had an Agile Interceptor Pro 7 EMG, which is a quality / price ratio of a good guitar but was (for me) its limits in terms of ergonomics, weight, etc. ...
So I decided to appeal again to stone-Marie Châteauneuf to design the 7 strings of my dreams. After a few months for the design and realization I receive in December 2013.
Verdict:
I won in the presence and definition. Nothing to do with Agile. The bass is present but not drafts, the definition remains good even in the lower spectrum.
The highs are there, but without the side bee nest maple handles. The medium is also well defined.
In the end the sound is full and homogeneous across the spectrum, it punches well in the mix. Of serious wholesale, palm mute accurate and what must Acute sharpness.
Usually in repeats with Agile, I used an AMT B1 (Bogner pedal simulation) in the power amp of my Orange Dark Terror and EQ MXR 6 band after to correct. There, with the Blast 7 not need EQ, it sounds live.
Obviously the weight and ergonomics, compared to Agile, then level as this is another world .... The neck is perfect for me, not too big (Schecter) or too thin (Ibanez). This profile is based on the '60 Gibson Slim Taper.
SOUNDS
Cf, use.
OVERALL OPINION
Unbeatable quality / price in my opinion.
Guitar custom designed and meets my expectations 100%.
I like everything: the look, sound, ergonomics, quality wood and finish.
No need to go through industrial brands overpriced when you see the quality of our French artisans ...
