MGR/Martijn "JP2" van Spaendonck
« Ibanez RG270 »
Published on 05/20/02 at 15:00I bought this guiter in a dutch music store called "dirk de witte". I Bought it because i needed a new guitar and because John Petrucci played on Ibanez guitars. I paid 365 Euro for it (350$).
I like the thin wizzard 2 neck wich plays very fast. I like the 24 frets and the floyd rose single-locking tremolo. The pickups are great too, especially the neck and the bridge pickups wich sound great and are very quiet. Since i've bought this guitar i play 3 hours guitar a day. And now i can play Dream Theater songs like "pull me under", "the spirit carries on", "finally free" and "another day".
The only thing i don't like about this guitar is that the high e string detunes very fast when you're using the tremolo arm.
The guitar's quality is excellent. The powersound pickups are great, the materials, like the metal tone and volume knobs are very good, ibanez did not go cheap on these parts. Only the choise of the wood could be better, 'cause you can feal and hear that the wood is a little cheap.
This is simply a great guitar. You can play every style on it from bleus to metal, from jazz to progressive rock. This guitar can handle every style. So i will always use Ibanez guitars!
