I am a guitarist, bassist, Maoists ... I put myself on drums, what scares the drummer of my band. I'm starting drumkit, but not music.
First, the sounds, yes they are very synthetic for years 80-90, but in an overall mix, it goes very well unless you are rock or metal. From the moment you play with keyboards and samples, sounds going very well. Sounds typed electronic music (not surprising since the module is basically a home alesis BAR, but not in the midday).
Level sensations is not the skins of acoustic drums, it's no skin meshed with Roland, but there is some rebound, and therefore very proper for the price.
Big avantange, modularity, yes, feeling Niveu bass drum pedal provided is invalid. But it seems that the designers did, and there is an input pad called "kick" in most of the pedal input "kick". So I plugged in the input pad and bought a pedal Tama (40 euros). It is cleverly put the pad and its stem so that everything does not move, but sensation level, the KD 8 of my drummer had better watch out.
To conclude: good value, type safe, it is, good detection of the velocity. But we must think about the organization, because the previous owner was disappointed, but he had not exploited all possibilities of the beast. The midi out to control a computer or a sampler, so if the internal sounds are not satisfactory, you can create your own and play for a minimal investment (midi / usb).
