DOD Fuzz
Published on 07/08/04 at 15:00I got this from my older brother he didn't need it so he gave it to me
It's my first pedal and peronnally I like it, its retty kool i threw it in a couple choureses and it sounded sweet. Over all it is a good pedal
I dosn't go at all with other FX if your going to use it you can only do regual guitar and fuzz or it sounds like crap.
Also i dont know if its only mine but some how its picking u a radio station which unortuneatly popped up right in the middle of a gig but it hasn't done that in a while an i have no idea why it did that happened (but it only did it for about a month) other then that no problems
Solid metal body with rubber padding n bottom and n pedal part. plastic knobs

DOD Classic Fuzz Pedal
Published on 07/01/01 at 15:00I was looking for a classic-sounding fuzz pedal, and being out of cash a little at the time the guitarshop I went to persuaded me in buying this at a reduced price.
I payed 20$ then.
I liked the way it's subtly fuzzy at first, but that changed (sorry, this ain't a really happy review).
The combination with other effects just sucks. I mean, you always use these kind of pedals in combination with for instance a Vox wah, or a chorus or anything else...well, that just doesn't work. Somehow, the pedal cannot stand an altered input (like when it's behind the vox it gives about nothing). Also, the pedal outputs a mix of altered sound and original sound, no matter how you turn the knobs. Somehow, the pedal cannot stand an altered input (like when it's behind the vox it gives about nothing). Also, the pedal outputs a mix of altered sound and original sound, no matter how you turn the knobs. So, if you put something behind it, you don't get every satisfying effects either, often totally losing the fuzzy sound in a longer chain of effects.
The pedal is completely made of metal, the bottom is padded with rubber so it doesn't slide anywhere. The knobs are manipulatable with your foot a bit if you're handy, but I'd like them to be bigger...overall the construction is robust. The batteries last for quite a while, so no real faults here.
If you're looking for a fuzz kinda like Hendrix's and similar , look elsewhere. If you're not and prefer a more bluesy soft fuzziness, you might test it out and like it. I tried it on a Fender Twin in the shop and it sounded a lot better than on my Marshall Valvestate, so maybe that's important too. It's a very warm fuzz tone though, but that wasn't what I was looking for, it just doesn't have enough power and depth imo.

3 knobs: gain 1, 1 tone and 1 volume and a bypass foot switch

SOUND QUALITY
It can range from a dull and very serious fuzz blues or rock 70, one more oriented hyper-aggressive fuzz punk, playing with the tone and gain. The sounds are pretty cool, not vintage, for rock fans to the old. I really recommend the metal, against, because they find the sound too dirty!

I like her a very messy and variable, with a chorus behind, it's like back in the seventies. There is frankly no bad thing, when you see the price of the beast, if she is still findable.
I also have a multi effects and I can not reproduce the sound with.See less10 - aldejerphPublished on 06/09/09 at 01:51 (This content has been automatically translated from French)- What are the effects or types of effects available?

For sound, I must admit that I'm not satisfied. I think this just gives a fuzz his draft that I have not russi fit in a record, even by putting an overdrive pedals before that.

- How long have you use it?
I bought it in 1993 but I prfre the distortion of my amp

Not

No I bought a fuzz factory directlySee less04 - moosersPublished on 05/21/09 at 10:02The DOD FX52 Classic Fuzz is a really simple fuzz pedal designed for use with electric guitar, but is suitable for any electronic instrument. It is an analog pedal that has a 1/4 inch and output and is powered by either a 9 volt battery or a 9 volt power supply. It is not a rack mountable unit as it is a stomp box.
UTILIZATION
The make up of the DOD FX52 Classic Fuzz pedal is just about as basic as it gets, as it only contains three knobs for volume, tone, and fuzz. All users should have no problems at all with this pedal because of this simple configuration of this pedal. I don't have the manual for this pedal, but it is really easy to use and it isn't necessary.

SOUND QUALITY
The sound of the DOD FX52 Classic Fuzz is about average, but is definitely usable and is good for use on the stage. I've only used this pedal with electric guitar, but it is suitable for keyboards or bass guitar if you so choose. The fuzz is pretty nice, but at times can come off a little tinny and not as full bodied as one would like. This being said, the DOD FX52 Classic Fuzz is fine for live shows, but I wouldn't really recommend it for use in the recording studio.
OVERALL OPINION
I've been using the DOD FX52 Classic Fuzz for about five or six years and while I like this pedal, it isn't my favorite fuzz pedal by a long shot. The price is what makes this pedal such a good deal as you get a pretty good fuzz sound for a dirt cheap price. It isn't exactly made all that sturdily, but should be okay as long as you treat it well. If you are looking to spend close to no money to get a decent fuzz pedal, the DOD FX52 Classic Fuzz is indeed worth a shot.See less00
