« Interesting, but useless! »
Published on 05/27/11 at 12:57Fuzz pedal, or distortion of good old-old. (A copy of Big Muff?)
The pedal has three knobs: Level, Tone and Fuzz, features 3 sounds "different" Warm, Bright, Muff.
It can connect with a standard 9V power, or with a 9V battery.
Please note that the box is poorly designed in the sense that once placed, the battery can be removed easily. A tip is to surround him with tape and leaving more than a tongue to make it easier.
Finally there seems to be a True Bypass pedal, at least according to official specifications.
Price new purchase, between 20 and 30 €.
Short on paper, not a bad pedal!
UTILIZATION
The configuration is not complicated, the pedal is really tough, it should not break with a single kick!
Please note that the build quality is not perfect yet (the check does not take up, but you can tighten to keep it in place) but for the price, I'm really not looking at this side there, as long as the sound is good ...
No manual.
SOUND QUALITY
We thus arrive at the sound quality of the pedal. One branch, and then we are disappointed by the sound. Let me explain, the pedal produces a breath, a buzz, really loud and continuous, the level of the breath and the same order of magnitude as the sound produced by the guitar playing! When we played without pause (no), its can still go, but once you ask the fingers, we do take note, it is a silence that is the end of the beans, the breath is really ubiquitous and very (too) uncomfortable. In the end, pedal unusable satisfactorily (at least from my point of view).
Well, of course, breath decreases if we lower the Fuzz and Volume, but if the volume is adjusted to get the same sound level on the amp when there is no pedal, well we have this breath.
Finally modes offer variations of sound (warm or bright), why not interesting, but with the default pre-named, this is not careful.
I note, however, use it with a Telecaster with single microphones.
PS: If you forget the breath, the sound is still quite nice, a really powerful distortion, it drools remaining controlled, not bad what ...
OVERALL OPINION
Conclusion:
Disappointed with the beast, which for 20 € I have not lost much. I wanted to test a Fuzz pedal, and with no stores nearby with guitar pedals Fuzz, I decided to try my luck on the Internet. Finally, it was not my best idea, but I took the opportunity to take the Crusher and the pipeline of the same brands, pedals are they completely usable.
I would not call it value for money. For 20 € I had the right to know this (a good disto a little old in short), but not much more, its use is somewhat compromised.
And to put the dots on i, no I do not probably do it again this election.
