Fuzz pedal, silicon transistor, original design hendrix years.
More info here, there notament learn the name of the pedal comes from the title "Axis Bold as Love":
https://www.roger-mayer.co.uk/axis.htm
"The Axis Fuzz WAS Developed in early 1967 to give-year Additional series of tone colors for Jimi. This guitar effect IS named after it's Most Famous uses On the title track of the album" Axis Bold as Love. "Electronically The Axis uses a discrete circuit configuration That Is Completely Unlike was simple and crude The Fuzz Face configuration. Both NPN and PNP transistors are low noise Silicon Used in year one configuration That Is temperature stable, free from radio interference and Producing more output level and sustain Than The Classic Fuzz. "
UTILIZATION
2 buttons, volume distortion. The design of the pedal that once on the floor, it is impossible to change one or the other by mistake.
For the power supply by battery, I think the engineers did not put any power supply line to avoid electrical interference, simply. It seems that the voltage of the battery when it is given a whack with his pedal meilleurt
SOUND QUALITY
Excellent pedal, thinner than a classic fuzz or less rough if you prefer (I also 3 Another fuzz, including a classic ibanez 70s, re-editing the fuzzbrite cf. agadavida and in a big muff), while retaining the character fuzz. With all the knobs at the bottom, it sends something!
OVERALL OPINION
I love the sound of this pedal that sounds good on almost all my amps and with any of my guitars, which is a good sign.
If you are looking for an entry point into the world of fuzz, I recommend it, it's really a quality of sound you will not have a big muff or other and for the ear, it trainer working with the good stuff.
Go listen to it on youtube if you want to have a better idea, what I do consistently for some time)
Note that I have the impression that it is less distributed in France, like all effects Roger Mayer. A reference
