Nuendo 7 won’t be available until this Summer, but Steinberg has partnered with Audiokinetic to introduce the new features and current developments of the new version of its post-production dedicated DAW at GDC.
Why choose the GDC for this? First, because Nuendo is widely used among the video game developers, and also because the 7th version will include audio features that are specific to video games, including the direct connection to the Audiokinetic Wwise middleware solution. Developers will than be able to drag and drop audio files to Wwise instead of opening dialogs, and this solution will also allow for working on Mac and Windows on a same network. Also, Nuendo projects corresponding to an exported section can be directly recalled in Wwise.
Other new features in Nuendo 7 include a Render Export with multiple options to export large number of audio files to the hard drive, and a Render in Place function that directly writes onto the disk within a project, with the result being placed into a new audio track for additional processing.
The rest of the novelties in Nuendo 7 will be unveiled soon…
