Ibanez GE-601 Graphic Equalizer

Fully analog graphic equalizer, like all the pedals in the series 0 elsewhere ... While the parametric equalizer is particularly effective in a very specific use (treatment of specific frequencies), the graphic equalizer allows me to hone in generally sound that was missing the little "extra" that does it all!

UTILIZATION

The use is purely visual (and auditory ...). Each slider is associated with a frequency and can boost or reduce the frequency in question. A slider 7th can boost or reduce the overall signal, which is effective for a clean boost ...

SOUND QUALITY

Unlike PQ-401 spent + or - 6dB for each slider, a slight hiss is heard but still reasonable. Each slider is approximately linear and operates without distortion parasite is so effective. The bass is warm, the highs are sweet and mediums remain as we want them to be: not sound like cardboard or plastic ...
In addition, the volume slider is ideal for slightly cruncher preamp of a tube amp. The guitar signal is not distorted with the slider ...
The little test to see the credibility of the settings for the GE-601 or even the PQ-401 is to put all the sliders to 0 (a click is felt: the first guarantee of quality). In this configuration, the pedal is on or off, the sound is exactly the same: 2nd guarantee of quality!
I doubt that we can find such a fine design with a current equalizer cheap ...

OVERALL OPINION

Finally, as mentioned above, it is a very useful pedal to refine any sound to obtain a nickel result!
The overall quality of the effect is very good if not a few light breezes. There is necessarily better equalization (more than 6 bands), but this pedal is well appreciated for audiophile guitarist!
