I tried Sovtek, JJ and Philips 80 ', but to my ears there's nothing like this lamp China!
Purchased in the States for 15 € fdp understood.
Until then, I loved the DD for their "heat" in the Mid particular. But 12ax7c selected by Groove Tubes offers the highest fidelity, bass and lower midrange revived and are very well defined, mids are rich without being aggressive and "nag" as with DD. The highs are very sweet!
This lamp "open" sound.
My humble advice: for the price, test a ... I'm spending much more expensive to improve my equipment and which added nothing better in the end, whereas with this lamp and fifteen Euro means much better. (Provided that the device which is desired to change the lamps is beautifully made ...)
