Indeed 100% analog compression. Compressor II as a 1st version was existing but has not been reprinted in the series 0 in which the CP-835 figure.

UTILIZATION

2 independent settings: Sustain and Level

SOUND QUALITY

Unlike some existing compressors market that add desperately that "bang" inaudible to each attack rate, the CP-835 offers a more musical compression! The sound becomes slightly warmer once activated Indeed, what some may not like. In fact, the bass is slightly boosted ... The Sustain knob is progressive but never distorts the signal, even at maximum. As for parasites eventually generated, they are very low compared to current again in such compressors Boss ... Finally, the volume setting is too linear without revealing excessive.

OVERALL OPINION

In short, the effect is excellent and provides a smooth compression that does not deteriorates the entire original signal! The only possible downside is the lack of control at the tone but a simple equalizer output to immediately rectify the problem (if there really is one) ...
Unlike OD-850 and OD-855, CP-835 is up to the quality of the vintage effects known. In addition, remaining relatively affordable, I think any fan of warm sounds and sound subtlety find satisfaction by investing in such a compressor!

I put 9/10 for the outstanding quality of the compression, the missing point corresponding to the lack of tone control.
