Numerical model very comprehensive and versatile
Several very good delay effects in one pedal.
Rich connectivity: stereo output, two instrument inputs, ability to control the effect with an expression pedal (not tested).
UTILIZATION
Fairly easy to domesticate, to the extent that it takes little time to experiment.
We dreamed of being able to combine both effects simultaneously, may be the next DD8?
SOUND QUALITY
I finally delay my dream: to make loops 'Frippertronics' without having to battle with 2 Revox A77, problems sync frame rate, breath and of course transportation!
His overall very clean and transparent, knowing the pedigree to forget "digital".
The effects I use most:
Long delay (6 seconds): excellent, versatile and easy to adjust.
Analog delay: very convincing, I "used a lot in very short delay with little feedback to grow my sound. Having owned an analog delay, with the DD7, I do not feel frustrated, question of taste.
Modulate: a sort of combination reverb / chorus, also excellent, indeed "spacey" very useful to create a sound "ambient".
Hold: bénéfcie is a loop of 40 seconds, very useful for working the chorus or to compose / arrange a guitar part.
Tap tempo sync very useful and easy to use.
Reverse: only real shadow on this rosy picture, not really controllable nor very convincing, so I do not use hardly any.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 2 years after owning a Boss DD2 purchased in 1984 and recently sold, and before that an Aria AD10 (analog delay) which I keep a great memory.
In overall this pedal is an excellent deal at the price it was sold, when I bought my DD2, though less versatile, it cost me much back then.
In terms of sound, and more generally the analog vs. digital debate, I find very compelling and powerful enough.
And then it's a Boss buffer and reliability.
I would do without hesitation that choice.
