I could not compare the two, but I must admit that it is doing its job: the dynamics seems very good, and I did not notice any obvious difference when he replaced my DD7 end of chain my pedalboard. A big downside to the preset change impractical, but these will have the great merit to exist. And given the number of possible variations is a "memo" very useful.
A big plus for the tap tempo: if the "foot" is classic, "audio-tapping" is just awesome. Pressing and holding the Tap switch and you get the tempo by sending an audio signal to black: your guitar, or (astuce!) a delay upstream which will then sync perfectly. This is where you will pay a rhythmic subdivision on Nova to build a wall of ethereal repetitions (or not).
SOUND QUALITY
Very good overall quality of Delay.
The "digital" mode compared to my old DD7 is at least as good, can be more dynamic?
The "analog" mode is nice but stay away from the grain of my EHX DMM. More modulations do not allow the same delusions that one.
Mode "tape" seems to me the least successful of the three: all the artifacts that make up the charm of this type of delay are conspicuously absent. Compared to my Catalinbread "Belle Epoch" is the day and night.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for nine months to replace a DD7 together with an EHX Deluxe Memory Man, and more recently a Catalinbread Belle Epoch. Nova is the last link of the chain. I rather used "digital" mode. The audio-tapping is a great asset, and the delay "dynamic" (ducking-delay) a very interesting feature.
It has no grain of his two friends, but knows preserve.
His ability to synchronize with other delay or tremolo, associated with rhythmic subdivisions can really have fun.
A great delay, but without much personality.
