Classic distortion pedal but with the ISF system strengthening its sonic possibilities.
Transistor technology. An inlet, an outlet. Alim. sector or Boss style 9v battery.

Sturdy construction and well finished.

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use but at the beginning it should still look good that you want between the ISF and the tone. The sounds range from crunch to saturated classic rock.

SOUND QUALITY

This pedal covers a wide range of sound quality with a good presence. I tested the lamp Rivera and then the transistor Ampeg Vox Pathfinder. It gives good but the settings are changing quite significantly on each amp, it seems to fit all kinds of amps and guitars which is a good advantage.
It is still surprising on the transistor as it approaches much of his lamp.
However I think Blackstar could add gain and also more boost in the low frequency tone.

The case looks very robust air and the 9V battery is provided.

UTILIZATION

The pedal is rugged and the switch is really quiet (we did not even feel the clicks as the other switches of this type).
The knobs respond well, the sound is basic configuration (like any distortion pedal with one knob tone). The ISF adds some subtlety in setting the tone, on the other hand must adjust the tone according to the position of the ISF.

SOUND QUALITY

Then there is the slap: a distortion that sounds like the drive channel of a tube amp.
I compared the pedal on the clean my HT5 the drive channel and playing with the tone and the ISF we come to find almost the sound of the drive channel amp (with a little less body and a slightly grain different anyway).
Gain toggles clear sound (for use in a saturated boost channel) to distortion through all the colors you want overdrive.
The only downside is that there could be a headroom somewhat larger to allow sounds to get beyond those of the saturated HT5 channel (to play metal, for example), but this is not the objective of this pedal (instead of the Metal LT a priori).

OVERALL OPINION

This is the best distortion pedal I've tried for me. The sound is actually closer to that of a tube amp.
Settings (gain, volume, tone and ISF) produce virtually any sound you require from the boost to distortion through the overdrive.
I really understand the slogan ("the sound in your head") marks written on the box using this pedal.
The only slight negative is that the distortion is still limited (equivalent to channel drive a HT5), but the pedal is so well designed that it makes you want to acquire a Metal LT you can explore the sounds beyond ...
