Good price / quality ratio
Published on 11/20/13 at 02:16 (This content has been automatically translated from French)I no longer used (microphones tex guy) since my G & L Tribute S500 sounds better.
I tried a lot of guitars and especially it's been quite a few years that I do.
In summary, it was rather warm strat pickups that sound good but a total lack of clarity.
Indeed, the sounds are nice because few crystals, however they starved dynamic (slamming the attack and response), but also accuracy. Once we satule increases its fat and becomes rough in the bass.
So good microphones to upgrade a Squier low cost but not at micro U.S., the lack of accuracy is still quite unfortunate and embarrassing to my point of view.
I will not repeat that choice because I've put on a U.S. highway One Strat.Read moreI no longer used (microphones tex guy) since my G & L Tribute S500 sounds better.

Very good choice for upgrading a strat
Published on 09/26/12 at 05:42 (This content has been automatically translated from French)I use them for 4 years on my strat, alder body and maple neck.
They replace the original ceramic pickups. I was motivated primarily by their very reasonable price at the time. (I did not have the budget for texas special)
I was pleasantly surprised by the microphones, they are exactly the sound I wanted: it is powerful enough, rather sharp, with a bold interesting. Media more "aggressive" than strat "standard".
They are equally at home in its clear that distortion, although I prefer to crunch in my plexi ceriatone 1987. You can tickle the Hendrix, SRV without problem. The neck pickup excels in lead, with a tube screamer, it's just awesome!

Another thing you can play the volume knob on the guitar to switch to a clean crunch, it responds very well (along with the plexi 1987 lends itself well to this game too!)
The middle position is also very interesting, something quite rare for the note, she has a good character that I can not find on any strat (modern or old for that matter)
on the other hand, it remains the single coils, so this is a bit violent hard rock and metal, forget .. They are sensitive to noise, but with aluminum shielding in the cavity of the guitar: no more buzz!
So, I am fully satisfied, I do not even think about climbing texas special.
In summary, a very good investment for those who want to upgrade the stratosphere without breaking the bank!See less110 - MGR/Johnathan
Fender Tex Mex Pickups
Published on 11/04/07 at 15:00I've been playing for nine years now and I play everything from rock to southern Gospel. I love playing the Blues which is what led me to buy these Tex Mex Pickups by Fender. I have a Squier Strat and have debated on spending $600 for a good Fender Strat, but I like the feel of my guitar, so I decided to go the cheaper rout of just installing pickups.
I purchased these pickups from Tillman Music in Rock Hill, SC for $76. This was the cheapest that I could find them since they ranged from 79-95 dollars online.

First of all, I put these in my Squier Limited Edition Strat. There was a very noticable difference once I installed them. Very good output yet EXTREMELY quiet, which I am so thankful for. I was worried that since these are high output pickups that I would have very noticable static and noise when not playing, but that isn't an issue until the gain on the amp is turned up rather high.
These pickups have a great low end and beautiful crips high. I had read several reviews saying that these were very "thin" sounding, but I haven't heard that at all. What I love about these pickups is the sound when bending strings. These are very good pickups and have made my Squier sound like an expensive Fender Strat.
There really isn't anything that I don't like about them so far. The only thing I've noticed is, like I said before, the are really quiet until you add a lot of gain. But, you just have to remember that single coil pickups just produce noise, and to me that is just part of the whole strat experience. I don't think I'd ever go to noiseless pickups just for the fact that I like a little bit of static because I find it easier to get feedback when it is wanted in a performance.
They are very sturdy and overwound with copper wire. I compared them to the stock pickups that came out of my Squier and they are taller and wound much better than the Squier pickups, but that was expected.
Mine also came with white hand writing on the back of the pickups and they were kind of dirty out of the package. But, I just wiped them off and the writing won't be seen.
The bottom line is that if you are looking for a good strat sound or an upgrade for a cheap project guitar, then these are worth every penny. Would I put these in a real Fender Strat? Probably not, but if you have a Squier and can't afford a Fender, or just love your Squier like I do, then these will help you get a $600 sound out of a $200 guitar.

For fans of classic rock and blues, look no + away. Also, do not make the RVer mtal with single coils. For 86Euros (Musikproduktiv.com) is excellent. Ct wiring, I put the 2nd on the bridge pickup Tone: zero, one approaches the "woman tone" Clapton. Small BMOL: Beware the length of cable supplied by Fender: that of the neck pickup is not fair, so be careful before you cut! I would advise anyone who wants these microphones amliorer a Mexican Start, and approach the sound of a "real" Fender without breaking the bank.See less120 - SlapKid

Worth it for concerts, for example, at least I do not want to move from this solution, it has, or we return home, often!
Top Pickups therefore APRS will mainly dpendre timber of your strata, and the position of the volume etc..
As indicated price is ridiculous for the quality offered.
Despite the tooth I cons electrical interference I think these mics are excellent, and a stratum bnficiera always whatsoever. Plus, he is a trainer to play with (use the buttons on the guitar!) There that Thomas Blug see on youtube, has opened new horizons!
J'enlve point for parasites, but none was known to the departure!
