All user reviews for the Tornade MS Pickups Strat Pickups "Hot Texas" Set

I wanted to order a set of pickups for my Fender Stratocaster Highway 1, which seemed to be a good basis for improvement but I really did not play because of the sounds that came out ... Information taken (and thanks to Audiofanzine user reviews), I contact Marc Tornado MS which suggests to me a set of two "Texas Hot" in the neck and central and a "Gilmourish" saddle.
In addition, I asked the assembly of these mics on a shield and Marc took care of me for wiring, installation and finishing. The result is well above my expectations and found a wiring old son with fabric, beautiful welds and quality parts "shop" (I had never seen a capacitor tone also impressive for its size!). For the options, I enjoys tone knobs "No-Load" that render sound in its entirety without filtering when 10 and a push-pull on the volume which allows me to activate the neck pickup and enjoy and 7 positions instead of five traditional positions. And given the quality of the mics, I am delighted selected options!
I wanted a vintage single coil sound high quality but by reducing the lens side that is typically found on the Stratocaster ... My friends, what was my surprise!! I use this set "custom" for a few days now and my guitar was transformed, transcended!
The "Texas Hot" are aptly named with a level of impressive output and a strong character. It smells like hot sand, and rodeo cowboys!
These two microphones, so I mounted neck and middle, ring vintage blues to death. They meet many emotions and the slightest variation in the pick attack feels. Bandwidth is amazing microphones are never aigrelets or too deaf. The sound is "full" everywhere!
Since I set it, I discovered a new position on the selector, the intermediate position (neck pickup + middle pickup) that I had used two or three times in my life ...
It is certain that this set does not necessarily suit everyone, microphones with a strong personality and this time I did not find it "Stratocaster" but rather "Strat that has the cough!" This is exactly what I wanted and I'm really pleased to have contacted Mark for making this plate.
These single-coil pickups are the best I have ever heard so far, just! In addition to sound quality, they are perfectly suited to my needs.
I did not know that Fender products in terms of single coils pickups. Apart from the origin of the Highway 1 pickups, I've listened to and played microphones "American Standard" and microphones Fender Custom Shop '60 's, because I am the proud owner of a '60 Stratocaster Relic Olympic White ... I will also tell you a secret ... It is likely that the set L Series in '60 Tornado MS comes piggyback on this guitar quickly ... In fact, I think my Highway 1 sounds better than the Custom Shop now say it!
The price / quality ratio is excellent and the more you work a French craftsman. Of course you are buying a product but also service and advice from Marc were very valuable to achieve a good result. Under these conditions, it is obvious that I would do this choice.

The original idea was for me to upgrade a good old strat mex with a set of texas special, operation I had already done with great satisfaction on another strat mex few years ago already.
Reading different opinions I came across Tornado MS mics and I say why not, it's pretty near the same price and it is French more ... Contact made with Marc, very nice, quick response to emails, which directs me to this set of micro and hop I order to be delivered within one week later with specifications characters.
Sending the guitar to the luthier for changing pickups and also all of the electronics (CTS knob, condo paper .... oil) with a push pull for the serious microphone in series with the micro center or the bridge pickup).
I heat lamps amp branch the guitar in his clear and, disappointment, this is not really the same as the texas special ... on the other hand I said: "ben shit usual with this type of microphone and control, it is not supposed to crunch gain levels, and scrap it already!"
I go a little gain, and this is the slap ... I stick one upstream and 808 is a new slap ... and I like that, I glued a TS9 between the 808 and the amp and it is a huge go back in my face ... Stevie Ray comes out of my fingers immediately!! hendrix and for that matter! quickly an exorcist!
So the very large sound output level important for simple (I would have to compare with my dimarzios FS1) and its built for rock, nervous, accurate, good response to the attack, sensitive and very dynamic, not too bright mics volume quite readable and true sound typical U.S. Route 66 and how red peppers. Obviously, lowering the volume a bit microphones obtained without problem all sounds a nice stratocaster expected but with more class.
Attention, it is demanding microphones, and they will be enhanced by a strong pull.
Nothing to say, hand wound micro is truly magical. Needless to say I took my foot sacrament and I totally forgot the sound of the texas special ...
PS: the position micro + micro severe acute (or bridge) series is absolutely huge ...
excellent value for money for his unique and handmade, and I already know where I buy my next set of microphones (double for 335 like) ...

To keep things simple.

I wanted to fit a Strat style guitar (Westwood) who had mics really pitiful.

I contacted him Marc specifying what I wanted. He immediately routed to the "Hot Texas."

Production time: Less than a week. For tailor-made, that is truly exceptional.

After really struggled to put microphones in this guitar that really has nothing standard, but then nothing. Here, the acoustic shock. I touched this guitar over many years has transcended and there I found my words carefully.

Of the attack, the soft sustain. Really nothing to complain about. Not really a problem but waxpotté microphone. Tried to correct volume to see again but otherwise just slightly lower volume.

I used to take Hepcats pickup. Who also accompanied me on a RI58 (PAF '59) and a Telecaster (Nocaster kit). I'm really happy, but I wanted to change identity and sound bet there is really successful.

MS Tornado provides a real violin on a more true than average, so I guess on a beautiful violin.

Marc Moreover you'll be able to prepare a kit PAF me on my LP Studio 92.

The price / quality ratio is not compromised, it is really super cam for quite a price measure. There's compare with Fender CS kit and test.

The reception is really at the top. Marc is a true enthusiast who really knows what he's talking about. And here I am not talking about his accomplishments amp. It is to die for so much smack is violent.

If I remake this choice of course is YES

I asked Mark to make me just a micro bridge to replace my hot track on my copy strat (in addition to my 2 Fender Texas Special) I wanted a less compressed microphone, singing with more grain and harmonic
not screaming and cash out the saturax! a simple gift c surbobiné (14kohm) on the edge of humbucker
I was not disappointed because:
its very harmonic where the notes sing and stand saturax well, not too sharp as is often the case on this bridge and not too compressed to heavy blues sounds to the west leslie or Philip Sayce and even ZZ Top !
avce repetition in my group, that sings with the same average quality stuff! is to say
value for money is well above that found in this price range!
