Having already taken a set with Marc (set 60L) which was totally amazed me and gave life to my strat I wanted new pickups for my TV.

Following the advice of Marc in the choice of microphones; I set off on the 55 'with the bridge pickup slightly surbobiné.

My first test after assembly have not proven transcendent ... but after some discussion with Marc I realized that my height adjustment mic was bad.

So I really took the time to peauffiner the settings to find the perfect balance between the two pickups.

Once this is done, I found myself with a simply excellent sound on the neck position sound is clear and precise while remaining mellow !!
And bridge pickups is very sharp and organic without ever being aggressive !!
The pickups are very dynamic and really respond to the nuances of the game!

short once more the work of Mark is impeccable, my telecaster sounds really good, its potential is exploited as it should be!
With a slight crunch is a treat, on addictive blues !!

I'm already happy (very happy) owner of a set Strat'60 Serie L and it is a wonder. It is natural, that when I decided to replace my Tele pickups US Standard 2011, I have contacted Mark for advice on the set to look again. The brief was simple: I want a TV ... that sounds like a very good vintage TV. His advice was to point me to a set with a 55 Tele bridge pickup slightly surbobiné to soften its super bright or too slamming the microphone.
Two weeks after ordering, I received the package, very well packed, protected in individual homes, surrounded by plastic bubble microphones. Two flight + NoLoad tone and capa that looks something wrapped + of cotton yarn, super nice to work controls.

So what? So I took my time. I firstly listened to my Std Tele, I spotted what I liked and what had prompted me to change pickups. Then I waited a few more days to be alone, quiet to get into an operation that requires still a little care and attention. It does not spoil the beautiful book by missing installation.
After the operation, I wait a few minutes, just to enjoy and ...

Well that is a new vamp I take full mouth! This guy is incredible, it is able to transform yourself a good shovel, honest work tool interplanetary rocket. It really is as if I found myself with the Tele that meet the Telecaster all bluesmen and rockers that I love! It's very, VERY impressive! Dynamics madness and / stamps to fall. It meows, it fingle, it growls, it screams while remaining musical. After the strat, it is a new revelation.

I am the proud owner of a guitar maker who combines my two favorite guitars, CT and Resophonic guitar. I need a new microwave to replace my neck 52RI which although very good, lacked fishing for my taste (its almost 30 years must be for something). After a few email exchanges with the very patient Marc, we reached a micro Alnico V in surbobiné 43AWG Plain Enamel with longer and wider pads. The result is exactly what I expected !! The personality of my guitar has remained the same but better. A more dynamic, more accurate round sound warmer, more powerful and stunning harmonic that was not the highlight of my TC. The balance of low, mid, treble is just perfect ... It is not without recalling the Big-T Analogman / Jim Weider / Fralin, which is not a mere compliment !!
I previously swore by Fralin pickups and Arcane Inc, I add to my list Tornado MS !!

First of all before talking microphones, I want to talk about who makes Marc! It is to listen to your questions, gives advice that you need, the links to listen to samples and responds super fast. In my case, within 24 hours each time. Class!
Therefore, I chose the TV set 55 with the bridge pickup on-bobinné.
The result is simply excellent! My guitar is more lively and sounds of the fire god.
Before I found it a bit feeble distortion bridge position and ben now. Anything goes! Although the telecaster is not necessarily made for big sounds, my fuzz going really well now, I love. The clean sounds are beautiful, all the reviews before I say the same. Brief excellent pickups made in France. Certainly it is an investment, but I'm glad I pleased ... Thanks MS Tornado!

I bought this set to replace the pickups of my Baja Telecaster which is originally equipped with good microphones but not ringing Telecaster.
The pickups were delivered very quickly (within a week).
There really is a big difference between mass-produced pickups and microphones "Shops" microphones Mark does not derogate from this rule, the TV set 55 is very good, it sounds clear, precise, clear with a good dynamics.
On my guitar and my amp the sound pickup of origin convenais me not entirely a matter of taste but I found it too dry, with insufficient body. After some discussion, my Marc kindly offered me exchange it against a wound microphone a little more.
That after a tedious and empirical height adjustment microphones, and the set consisting sounds perfectly on my Baja.

I use them for less than a week but good .. That is enough to give an opinion!
I ordered a kit microphones Marc L series that really convinced me so I did not really wanted to go to other manufacturers for my Telecaster.

I was looking for clean sound slap well on all positions and, of course, without distorting too blatantly in the bridge (if any) and suddenly, I have exactly what I wanted. Twang of anything.
The pickups also take very well in overdrive and slight distortion. Despite the fact that these are vintage, they rather take the road very well on more aggressive distortion (well, it is not for good but .. If you ever want to just try it).

In terms of price, 179 €, it may seem excessive, but, in my opinion, is justified. This is slightly more expensive than a kit Custom Shop Twisted Fender (140 €), but it is much better.

If I had another Telecaster, I do it again this choice without hesitation.

For the sake of transparency, I said that to post a comment on audio fanzine (positive or negative), is entitled to an extension of lifetime warranty on microphones.

This point being said, here is my review:

2 microphones were installed on an American Deluxe Telecaster, rosewood fingerboard. Compared to the old original pickups (fender SCN), "there is no picture." The original sound was good, that the Tornado is excellent: better dynamic, full and punchy. Perfect for my style of play in the clear, mixing attacks plectrum and finger-picking, without effects (apart from a slight delay or reverb) plugged into a good amp, no need for more. If you like the sound clear, keep all your effect pedals in the closet (I have not tried rock sounds with overdrive). The nuances of the game are perfectly rendered by these microphones.

I would do this choice without hesitation.

I first wore to the Van Zandt to improve the sound of the guitar, I think the microphones origins actually quite weak people to use, especially in the neck, and lack of clarity, roundness.
That's when I saw the reviews on AF set tele55 'I've changed my mind.
And I'm not disappointed! Everything is there: the high level, full and sharp, vibrant and loyalty to his appointment!
I'm not pro but it's pretty amazing the difference with microphones origins, the guitar really expresses its full potential, it has nothing to do!
More Marc (the brilliant designer) is responsive to the demands and adjusts the kit as needed (slightly waxed for me to reduce the feedback).
The guitar sounds great on my lamps amps (Blues Junior Tubemeister 18) and sublimated when I plug the Mercer Box Fuzz pedal as a clean boost ...

In short, a great choice for me that I recommend to anyone who wants a vintage sound of hell on their Telecaster with microphones handmade in France please.

More round handle without being darker and more open and powerful in the bridge with a bit more midrange on each microphone that I asked marc not wanting to be too bright!

C distortion in what I had asked them to stay straight, with gross root character well and certainly not garish! I think the balance is great because we often have microphones that are super clear sound and the distortion is disappointing for once nothing to say! that I spent my time on the strats I begin to let go of my TV!

I have several guitars, including a left-handed Telecaster Mexico bought used nickel. Over time this has become my favorite guitar, grip, handle, ..... so much so that I thought to give him a better quality microphones. I was thinking of Fender USA, I found an ad and the seller "honest" told me that I should probably get a kit from MS Tornado?!. Some hesitation and I started. Mr. AIMAR advised me Kit TV 55. I received them yesterday yesterday and get on the field. A little anxiety by turning the amp and then that happiness. In the beautiful clean sound, with a slight bluesy distortion, the sounds are still clear. I give an honest opinion and hope it will serve people in my case. To replace the micro bridge of my Mexican tele, I wanted to ask him and if possible French micro fabrication shop, after reading many reviews and heard some samples, I turned to tornado ms pickups.

It adapts to any customer demand, especially for the left (on the pads of the microphones). I got the microphone less than a week after payment.

Micro received, the quality of work we see, materials, wiring. If you want telecaster sound, the microphone you need, this is the typical grain tele, it twang, crunch it very well, the microphone also supports small vintage distortion. I rediscovered my telecaster . This is the best micro tele I tested (standard MIM U.S., fender Nocaster 51), at the same time I have not tested tons.

I do not have a negative opinion on the mic, on the other hand I would have liked to receive a pretty box (my materialistic side) and lower shipping (colissimo recommended the safest). In the end, Marc is cheaper than the competition for manufacturing quality at least equivalent.

It's been 10 days since I let go my telecaster ....
After exchanging with Marc several times, we are part of a kit tv 55 surbobinés slightly. I took the opportunity to redo the entire electronic guitar and change with my old pickups (van zandt) is beyond my expectations.

What is so special that you like most and least?

What I love:
- Large dynamic
- Mics that do not drool, even the neck pickup
- The low indeed present, it should also review the EQ of the amp if it is faster "boomy"
- The extended frequency range, resulting in a sound not narrow but wide and round.
- Side "roots" sound, everything goes through, but it ca not forgive gives life to the game and guitar. In short it is not sanitized, smooth, etc ...

I do not like:
- The microphonics is confusing at first, but got used to it quickly. May be more restrictive in use home studio.
- Not having known before Marc


Did you try many other models before buying it?
I had a Fender, Lollar, Fralin, Van Zandt, Di Marzio and Seymour.

These are all for the most part very good microphone, but there is a gap between the dynamic grain that gives the Marc kit.
To make a comparison, it is like going from a 128 mp3 to a CD

How do you rate the quality / price?
Rather well placed given the outcome, quality manufacturing and on top of what the competition offers ... (forget Duncan Antiquity)

With experience, you do again this choice? ...
