«  20Hz without attenuation or distortion »

Published on 05/31/14 at 16:08
Passive subwoofer covering the first octave without mitigation, indoor or distortion and without electronic correction, unlike boxes HC compact amplified. Absolutely regular response to 1kHz. Imperative external filter (BPF typically 80Hz, -24dB/oct.) Bulky (270L) but easily integrated into a room (against a wall) by its standard dimensions and classical aesthetics. Beneficial indisputable contribution to the fullness and clarity it provides on the lower notes. Transient behavior issue, not dragging suspect. Ideal complement speaker small or medium size (in Cabasse, the Corvette and Caravelle for which it was designed) in monitoring or Hi-Fi No particular problem in HC. Not recommended for use in live sound, risk of breakage HP 21cm (rms power. Maximum limited to 120W, 850W peak repetitive depending on the manufacturer). Quality manufacturing (carpentry and HP) and finish typical manufacturer in the 80/90. [1 Etna personal use with Bryston SP2 processor and amplifier 3BSST.]
