USA ... Manufactured from 1965 to 1969.
Bolt-on neck, 24 frets, a tremolo, 2 single coil pickups, 1 volume, 1 tone, 3-position selector ...
Nothing more simple ...
Not to be confused with the model "Celebrity" which is less rare and bill a little less polished ...

UTILIZATION

Channel ultra comfortable (a Reference for that matter) that evolves according to the year ...
I own three (one from 1965, a 1966 and a 1967) ..
The '65 has a thinner neck, a little narrower but is well in hand (actually a C end).
The other two ('66 and '67) have a handle a little wider and a bit more shapely (but this is still fairly subtle).

The shape is great for my taste and typical (German curve) ...
Ergonomics is good when sitting, standing it is perfect ..
Access to acute virtually identical to a Rickenbacker 330/360 or even easier (that is to say ..)
The tremolo is superb and fits perfectly the agreement .. Addictive I tell you!

SOUNDS

Despite what one might think at first glance, the Mosrite Combo adapt to almost any style of music (except with regard to all the same ultras saturation / distortion: it is a hollow-body!). ..
It is awesome Pop / Rock / Noise / Post Rock / Garage ...
But too largely unknown, it reserves its charms and secrets that some who like to think outside the box .. (Robert Smith in a long time even when used in addition to his Jazzmaster ..).
She leaves the mix of a unique and recognizable every time ..
In Surf / Rockabilly, she is at home ...
In terms of sound I'm used to describe, for those unfamiliar with the culture Mosrite, as the great crossing of a Jazzmaster and a Gretsch ... But this is not to honor this unique instrument sounds to own ..
The light is clear, warm and "inhabited".
And the overdrives are hot AND distos sharp ..
It will obviously be much better development through a tube amp

I regret the few users of this beautiful guitar ..
In France, for Mosrite Combo (not solid bodies), I know only two regular ADVANCED USERS (through the "Professional Circuit") ... That is to say!
But in a way, it allows these instruments to remain accessible in terms of price .. (nothing to do with the price of the Fender / Gibson or other of these years) ...
And so lovers to enjoy!! And that's good ...
Finally when the have found .. Because they are even rarer than solidbodies ..
Count even when a very wide range of 1400/2900 euros depending on the year, model integrity and color ..
Even on a high rating (instrument of '65, 100% original and rare color, namely red dakota and drunk), we are not even in the prices of common custom shop Fender or Gibson instrument for almost 50 years, Unique , makes you sound like that person and for my taste far outweigh the (violin, microphones / sound, handle / tremolo ...) ...

OVERALL OPINION

I use my Combo for nearly 10 years (in addition to my old Jazzmaster and Jaguar) with an indescribable happiness and without any inconvenience ...
What a pleasure each time to tell the techs Home halls / festivals or passionate public after a concert, the legend ... Mosrite
I would do if this choice?
I did it three times ...
