I own a classic gibson 1992 with original microphone, the 496/500 pair, as saying that the ca sent lour! but I wanted to change for more vintage pickups, plus a blues spirit, classic rock, a little jazz ... after many search I discovered the tornadems. I finally took the advice of a couple Marc alnico 2 and 3, 2 allowing me to have a more rock. To me what makes the difference are the clean sounds great! round, equilibria, with 2 alnico the intermediate position is crystal clear (les paul huh course!) on bass with the tone knob it falls into the Jazz, they punch but not aggressiveness. The bridge position is very good also with alnico 2, acute but not loud, not aggressive.
Saturates this is exactly what I want. The combination of alnico 2 and 3 is perfect. I rediscovered the sound of my pedal okko dialblo I could not to use with the original pickups, I was ready to sell it but I wanted to wait microphones Marc ... huge! ! low gain sound, perfect for blues. The clean sldrive superbly, thanks it was a beautiful palette of sound. For the bridge alnico 2 be that mean?? Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith and consort, Lenny Kravits ... it sounds! c c beautiful vintage! this is what we love.

I would do this choice without hesitate!
My only regret in the matter? .... have to buy mounts and Seymour Duncan for my Ibanez AS93 ...
