HUROLURA « A selection of filters »
Published on 11/09/12 at 01:17Again, generally speaking, I invite you to read my review of the Shruthi-1 "standard".
I would focus on the specific model, again filter.
The highlight of it is the richness of proposed configuration.
Found no less than 15 different modes for filtering combining variations of number of poles of the filter 1 to 4 (hence its name), so slopes with 6/12/18/24 dB / octave patterns password -bas/passe high pass / band / tape cutting / phase shifter and a number of combination.
To this is added four "flavors" of possible filtering: in fact you can also choose different filter response variation between "liquid" which offers an answer close enough filters or CEM Roland, "MS" which is based more on typed Korg35 filters present on the Korg MS-10 and MS-20, "wobbly" which adds a réijection the first stage of the filter modulation input cutoff frequency which can introduce instability making things more lively and "whacky" that combines fashion "MS" mode and "wobbly".
With all that we are left with some 60 possible combinations quickly in there hand.
Another element "for fun", the presence of 3 LEDs that light up differently depending on the settings.
UTILIZATION
Side configuration, there are still intelligent ergonomics is the hallmark of Mutable Instruments: make it readily accessible despite a number of command down to the essentials.
SOUNDS
His side, there is the sound richness present in other models, but with the possibility of filtering variants multiplied!
This is my favorite Shruthi-1.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 6 months. If I could keep one of my Shruthi, it would probably be this one.
