Published on 06/25/12 at 15:42The JLab Audio JBuds J2 are a set of earphones that are affordable and great sounding. They feature a standard 3.5mm (or 1/8") stereo jack, that is gold plated. They come with three different sizes of silicone ear buds to provide the most comfort possible. They come in multiple colors, including red, grey, blue, yellow, chrome silver, electric blue, hot pink, lambo yellow, black, orange citrus, pink martini, and purple lavender. With these many choices, you are bound to find the perfect color for your uses, but professionally, I certainly prefer black.
When I first tried these earbuds, I noticed they produce obscene amounts of bass, which is usually unheard of in smaller earbuds. I first thought it was too much; the music seemed too bass heavy, not enough mids, and just too unbalanced. But after using them for several more tried, I began to like the bass a lot. Mainly, it lets me hear bass lines more clearly than regular Apple-style earbuds, and ultimately, it lets me hear more. Pretty much every other earbud I've owned lacks the bass response that you can get from studio-sized headphones and monitors, all except for the JBuds. I don't know how they do it, but once you get past it's non-flat eq response, you can begin to like them. Even my Shure earbuds, which can cost over $100 a pair, don't have nearly the bass response that the JBuds do.
The Jbuds are extremely comfortable, yet they are tight and they stay in the ear just fine. The package comes with multiple attachments, and they are easy to switch out, and they are fairly easy to clean. Overall, I would certainly recommend these earbuds to anyone, especially at the sale price that I bought them (at around $12). Be sure to try these out!
