Think it carefully ...
Published on 07/01/12 at 12:54I bought it in April 2011 to use it for occasional gigs as a guitarist/vocalist, that's why I didn't get a more expensive in-ear system.
The first thing I did was to get rid of the headphones included to use my Shure SE215.
I am very disappointed by this system: First of all, it makes a lot of noise, to the point of driving me crazy during very soft songs. Then, lows are practically non-existent. It would be nice to be able to hear the kick or the bassist next to you!
Finally, and to top it all, the receiver is a real crap. Finally, and to top it all, the receiver is a real crap. I had the opportunity to use it with a good setup (Yamaha M7CL as FOH, mics that cost an arm and a leg and a great sound engineer) and there was nothing to do, it has hardly audible. Thank God I had a couple of wedges when I plucked my headphones.
When it comes to sturdiness, two months after buying them I had to send them to after-sale service because, for an unknown reason, they didn't work anymore. The receiver was declared dead a couple of months afterward, after I dropped it (it wasn't correctly fastened to my jeans).
So, in the end, I only use it for small gigs and with only one ear. It's perfect for that: Cheap, I send it the vocals and a bit of my guitar and it's great, with the advantage of taking up no space, unlike a monitor speaker. As for the rest: Stay away from it!
Nevertheless, for a system that costs less than $250 and works, I give it a 5.
PS: Do note that for less than twice the money, the same brand has just launched the IEM 200... We'll have to see what that's about, although for the price, I think the defects ought to be corrected and it must be similar to a Shure PSM200.See less00 - savor
I love it
Published on 03/21/12 at 14:35I agree completely with the previous review.
And I add:
Long battery life 10h~
The headphones aren't the best.
Without music you can hear some noise, but it's not annoying in normal use.
Great value for money.
Our drummer likes it too, but not so our guitarist.00 - lerevecbeau
Simple and functional
Published on 11/28/11 at 04:11I use it live for concerts as monitor (obviously).
I am very satisfied with it, be it for its audio quality, the comfortableness and even the setup.
It's a very good product from the value-for-money point of view.00
