Value For Money :
Excellent
I was looking for a sound card at an affordable price allowing me to work properly at home. I use it mainly for work on midi and audio sequencers.
My config is a bit old, Athlon 64X2 Dual Core 2.61 Ghz, 2GB RAM, and Win XP. I mainly use Sonar with VST.
Input / sotie format digital SPDIF, input / output Midi input / output RCA audio (2 inputs, 2 outputs).
UTILIZATION
The drivers are stable, at least on my setup. I have not had any problems with installation, at the same time this card is no longer very young so I guess the drivers have been improved since its release. It's been a while since I have not done the update, but I do not think there is much now anyway. Especially the main one being that everything is stable, and that side not worry about me.
I do not use a lot of tracks, maybe 8 read with virtual instruments, and I never had a problem. For latency, it is almost nonexistent.
GETTING STARTED
Installation is simple once the driver downloaded. No inconsistency on 2 PC with which I used this card. The manual is concise, I've never really needed.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for about 7 years, and it still works as well. I'm using it for work on almost sequencer with virtual instruments, so it is quite sufficient. For recording audio, I have another more suitable config (Mac + Motu), but this card can help. The sound quality is not bad when it comes to working with VST, but for the record there is of course much better. For the price, it remains in my opinion a very good card, like all Delta series elsewhere.
The most:
- Value for money
- Transparency of the card, once installed you forget
- Dynamic quite correct in this price range
Cons:
- Input / output RCA audio at the same time at that price ...
I would do without this choice problem, especially when I see the life of this and the fact that she did not really competitive even today in this price range. An excellent investment for anyone wanting to seriously start computer music.
