RTS MADI-16 Plus
RTS presented the MADI-16 Plus scalable multi-channel audio digital interface card at NAB 2011.
The MADI-16 Plus card is designed to expand the configuration capabilities of the ADAM digital audio matrix frame and the ADAM-M digital audio matrix frame by utilizing up to 64 channels of MADI (Multi-channel Audio Digital Interface) technology to connect AES-10-compliant devices over coaxial and fiber connections.
The MADI-16 Plus operates at sampling rates of 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz. The MADI-16 Plus’ point-to-point configuration is designed to provide for "little or no delay in the transmission of audio across lines."
The MADI-16 Plus is scalable, allowing 16 to 64 channels of audio IN and OUT. The MADI-16 Plus is also compatible with AZedit intercom configuration software.
The MADI-16 Plus is designed to tie the entire system together by supporting audio connections between matrix frames. The MADI-16 Plus can link frames using a variety of connector options including coaxial and fiber connections with a range of over 15 km between ADAM/ADAM-M frames. The MADI-16 Plus also supports ancillary data for RTS Intelligent Trunking between long-distance intercom systems.
