This is a replica of the prewar Martin 000.
The violin is exceptional and astonishing quality is perfect.
The spruce top has very tight net, bodes well for the game with a pick, with the cross-sectional "bear claw" spruce which characterizes the high-end AAA.

UTILIZATION

The 12 non-cash boxes and heel vintage limit access to acute, but it's really a detail next to the great joy that we feel this guitar to resonate.
The key 46 mm wide Ala first box allows for great ease fingersyle game is the reason why I separate myself from my Martin D28 (43mm width only) in favor of the Collings.
Once set (bridge saddle down to the mini before it borders), the handle is super comfortable with its V-light curve, however, that allows to play classic position for the left hand, and feel for the two hands is that touch is very flexible.
The guitar is a reasonable weight, and its small size makes it very comfortable to hold especially for the right arm and shoulder.
The slightest touch of the strings with the fingers, and his pulse ... amazing!

SOUNDS

The projection of this instrument is incredible, and we feel the same senstions with a classical guitar concert: it allows a multitude of shades, and pianissimo to fortissimo, the sound is there, balanced, does not saturate.
The acute desire to bead up, the bass is deep and fleshy, as to sustain ... nirvana.
I thought that by acquiring this guitar to replace my Martin D28, I was fine on fingerstyle forthe win, but lose a little for the game with a pick, nay, with a pick, it's a fabulous, and fishing may be greater than my big Dreadnough Martin.

OVERALL OPINION

Initially I was looking to replace my D28 with another model but Martin OM or 000, and I had the incredible opportunity of Degotte in Toulouse, where I saw the Collings of OCCAZ at € 2450 (frankly interesting if we knows she will sell € 4500 in the only new store in Paris which is important in France).
Its sound is very close to Martins, but manufacturing issue and I find it better.
Collings is rightly regarded as one of the best guitar makers in the world sfolk.
I personally know a guitar similar to this, and I have my home, this is a Dupont GA30, almost twin of the Collings.
If we can still compare two guitars are in excellent, I would say that the Dupont outperforms somewhat Collings for fingerstyle play (she especially low of incomparable depth), but the Collings is a true American better for the game to pick.
From there to say that Dupont is French violin making what Collings at the American violin making, there is not a cross the ...!
