This guitar was probably made in Asia, and is imported from Riverside, a company based in Scotland. Simply put, it's a copy of the SG double neck that it incorporates the main features. I took it in white, but it is available in mahogany and black.
Chevealet tune o matic type, therefore, two humbuckers per game.
The frets are of high quality although the finish could be better but at that price (see below) I will not be choosy. And then slide, it's not really an important feature. The mechanical oil bath, and the guitar is good agreement. Note that it remains permanently in the rehearsal studio and, despite some slight differences in temperature from one session to another, it is not too out of tune, especially the part 12-string.
there are three switches: a toggle switch for 6 (micro-micro-mixing serious acute) same for 12. The third toggles between 6 and 12. If desired you can leave the toggle switch in the middle, and it goes from 12 to 6 and vice versa without having to select it. Of course, the gain is much less important. Personally, I use the handle depending on which I play, except for a song or I have to move quickly from 12 to 6. it's a detail.
UTILIZATION
The sleeves are nice. I have the distinction of playing slide, so I did not nesoin action very low. But as I also fret with the slide, it is not necessary that the strings are too high. I have no problem adjusting to this level with the guitar, as well as for the 6 strings for 12.
Access to treble is identical to that of an SG, so no problems. The only catch is that the balance of the double neck guitar is different than a normal guitar, it takes time to readjust the position as the guitar pitches down. It's a habit.
And since I must speak of ergonomics, weight is another parameter. Well, I expected worse. This guitar is certainly heavier than my les paul, but not that much. What is certain was that I will not do a whole but with a set of two hours, 20 minutes of continuous play with the Riverside seem possible. Afterwards, the shoulder begins to suffer and having to raise the position regularly since the guitar looks the part of heads also tired after a while.
As for his ... , I'm amazed. The four humbuckers mounted 12-string and 6 string sound well and to be honest, I do not see a mega difference between those of my les paul custom, which already sounds fabulous. I do not know which brand it is, I'll ask Riverside. The fact is that this guitar has found its place on some pieces of my group because it also offers a grain very special and interesting, including 12-string.
SOUNDS
See above. It was perfectly integrated into my game and style of music the group, which is a mixture of rock, folk with consonants slightly Celtic touches of blues in which the guitar is perfectly at ease.
I plug this guitar on a Soldano RoS 50 and a Fender Blues Deville, through a Boss pedal in which we find from right to left TU2 TS9 DD3 DD20 and CE5. The sounds range from crystal (for 12-string parts) for a very bold chorus. the 12-string also behaves very well in saturated sounds (combination of drive TS9 + channel Soldano)
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for two months now, quite regularly. The characteristic I like most, besides the sound and its possibilities, it is also the look! white cellulose paint seems excellent, but time will tell. I have no complaints if the weight and balance, but hey, I knew what to expect.
The value for money: given the description that I have to do and my satisfaction, this guitar cost me 450 euros, hard case and shipping (DHL) included. Find more! important parameter, I am left handed and it is a model for left-handed course. To try the same thing in another brand, smokes! I bought the pif, after seeing the riverside pubs on ebay.
If I had to redo the choice, would be the same without problems, given the low investment, it will not much even if it would have hurt to swing 450 euros for nothing there, nothing to regret, to otherwise.
