Sound Trends has released Looptastic Producer, an iPhone music-production app designed to let people import their own audio loops from a PC or Mac.
Looptastic Producer is also described as “the first iPhone looping app that time-stretches loops to play at the same tempo.”
Looptastic Producer builds on the Looptastic series of DJ-oriented virtual instruments (Breakbeat, Drum 'n’ Bass, Electro, Minimal, and Progressive), designed for iPod enthusiasts who want to make their own music with touchscreencontrol.
New Features (over classic Looptastic editions):
- 1. AIFF/WAV/OGG audio import (with optional time-stretch).
- 2. Crossfader is now active in the filter screen, enabling more expressive mixing. (A customer request.)
- 3. Loops now load in the background for faster startup.
- 4. Coming soon: mix recording and tempo control.
Plus:
- Preset Content: 6 Loop Sets from the classic Looptastic editions: Breakbeat, Drum 'n’ Bass, Electro, Minimal, and Progressive. All sounds were designed by Midihead and Peace Love Productions. Each Loop Set contains 10 stems (drums, percussion, bass, strings, synths, vocals, SFX, and more). Free Lite version has 1 Loop Set.
- Import Formats: 16-bit, 44.1kHz, mono or stereo WAV, AIFF, or Ogg Vorbis. Customizable loop length (1, 2, 4, 8, or 16 bars) for sound bites.
- Mixing: Multitouch volume control with three zones and crossfader.
- Effects: Multimode resonant filter (low pass, high pass, band pass, notch); touchpad-controlled frequency and resonance.
Pricing and Availability:
Sound Trends is offering Looptastic Producer for a limited-time introductory price of $4.99. The price will revert to $9.99 soon. Sound Trends also offers a single-track Lite version for free.
