Agile 2800 DLX
Published on 09/11/04 at 15:00I picked this guitar up on Ebay from Rondo Music just like most people have. I paid $300 for it. I was told by a few friends not to risk buying a guitar on line. Find one to play first like in a store. But after reading several reviews, I took the risk anyway.
I've had it about 6 months now. It gets played almost daily. It has a great looking finish, and the action is perfect. I have a couple friends with custom Les Pauls that say they feel no difference. And one friend says the neck of the Agile is a little wider near the body. That is fine by me, I have big hands. It plays great.
There is nothing to dislike about it.

The guitar is flawless. The only thing I think they could improve would be a little better pickup rings. Mine are plastic and don't fit perfectly. But nobody even notices it until I point it out. The new ones I ordered should be here soon.
You are not going to find a better guitar for the price of the Agile. Sometimes I feel the need to have a real "Les Paul", but everyone that plays my Agile says I shouldn't waste the money.

Published on 03/04/04 at 15:00Bought from Rondo Music off the web for $309. Found out about Agile guitars and Rondo Music by accident while searching on e-bay. After seeing the nice looking pictures I did about a months' worth of research into Agile guitars. What I found was this; for the money spent there is probably not a better guitar out there.
I have a 1986 Gibson Les Paul Standard and I play in a regularly gigging band. I love playing my Gibson but I found that I can no longer justify risking it being damaged or stolen while out playing gigs. I can't afford to replace it at todays' current value. In a word, nothing.
For a $300 instrument the quality and contstruction is easily comparable to an instrument costing 3 times as much. I took my Agile 2800 DLX to a professional luthier to be set up (I have done the same with both of my Gibsons as well). His opinion was the neck was nice and straight and set up beautifully, the hardware was of good quality and real Grover tuners to boot.
This guitar was bought to fill a specfic need and I think it will perform just fine. Remember, only $300!

Looking for a decent guitar to use that wouldn't be a great financial loss if it was damaged.
Nice Finish
This guitar plays nery nice and the pickups are smooth and have a very nice tone. This is one of the nicest guitars I have ever owned and I Have owned Real Gibsons to include Customs so I am not basing my opinion on imagination.
Nice thick flame Maple top
Set Maple Neck
Nice neck, well dressed frets

I thought I would end up replacing pickups and some of the hardware but there was no need to replace anything on this guitar except the nut and it looks like they have improved that on newer models.
The nut could have been fitted a bit better, there was a slight gap underneath it. I usually replace nuts anyway but now this model comes with a professionaly cut bone nut and an extra graphite nut..
Very well made no problems, as sturdy as any LesPaul
Outstanding value, almost criminal to get a guitar this nice for this price.
