Manufacturing States, the model I purchased in 1983 is dated 1979.
22 frets / 3 pickups / tailpiece fine tuning.
2 volume / 2 tone / 1 selector.
Set neck.
Mahogany body, curved maple table (?).

UTILIZATION

Handle very nice, access to acute typical of a Les Paul.
His only flaw: the weight of 5.4 kg!
When the basis of an instrument is available as good a violin, all sounds are possible ...
I'm talking about basic, because the model I own was undergoing some changes: mechanical replaced with Grover Imperial, three switches were added between the knobs and the bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan.

SOUNDS

This guitar can suit any style.
Plugged into a good pre-tube amp and a good multi-effects, we can sculpt the sound will ...

OVERALL OPINION

I never really used this guitar because of its weight, but it often makes the happiness of musicians who accompany me.
Nevertheless, I appreciate the versatility, it sounds as good as jazz, blues, hard or heavy, and is a wonderful "spare tire".
Of all the guitars I've had in 30 years, I kept two: the Les Paul Artisan and my Herve Prudent Gypsum.
Seeing me cost about 6000 francs in 1983, it was almost an investment, especially for an instrument that one does not (at the time, I played on Stratocaster) but when you have dreamed for years of guitar on the cover of "Peter Frampton Comes Alive" (a 3-LP pickups) and you can have the same (and better) ...
