Published on 07/24/12 at 01:43Getting Started with T Racks Mastering Software 2.0 was not difficult at all. I have been using it for 2 years now off and on. I really haven’t used it in a while due to other software that I now own that I feel are better than T Racks. But there is no doubt that T Racks is a great mastering software and you will tell a huge difference in your mastering just by using some of the built in presets. With some general understanding of mixing and mastering you will be able to put out a great complete song in no time.

You will probably need a manual to use this if you are a beginner, I am no sure if there actually is a hard copy of a manual though because I have never seen one nor have I needed one. There really aren't too many special things that you can do with this T Racks plug in for mastering. That is one of the misconceptions that I had when I purchased this I was expecting it to be able to do a lot more. One thing that it does great is it runs great on my windows vista computer and hasn’t gave me any issues yet. I absolutely love how fluid it runs.
OVERALL OPINION
If you are trying to get a good master, you can just open this up and almost instantly get one with out any problems. I do suggest getting more in depth with it though so you can really use it to its full potential. Because if you are going to spend this amount of money on it, you don’t want to just rely on the preset to get you your master. Every song needs a different master on it, so no same preset will work with every song. So understand how to use it and you will love T Racks Mastering 2.0 software.

T-Racks Mastering Software
Published on 03/10/03 at 15:00From T-racks.com.
This is a great mastering program... I purchased the standalone PC version. You can also get the version that integrates with Cubase or Sonar. It looks and sounds like an analogue mastering device. In my previous band we paid to have mastering done... it cost us $700. But when I mastered my solo CD I was getting better a better variety on the total mix with T-racks... and it only cost me $299 for the software. It has alot of default Suites , these are default mastering selections that are easy to add that professional touch. But you can also make individual selections... such as compression, limiter, EQ etc.

The software is pretty locked down, you can only install it 3 times before you will need to get another key code from T-racks. And its pretty confusing getting the code from the website. In todays world PC's crash all the time. And its a hassle to have this restraint in my opinion. They should just sell a software dongle that goes on the back of your machine.
Excellent program structure. Looks and feels like an expensive analogue mastering device.
Its a great buy. It took my Cakewalk mixes to another level of production.

The results are really great for mastering mix of amateur gives pumped with output levels and a compression credible. The counterpart to all of this is the time to find settings that may change dramatically while the tracks focntion treated.
In short, here simulates a tube EQ and compression and that makes pretty good if you find the right mix.
I tried plans sondier a compression of a large room of Lille but there's no magic formula that applies to all the mixes, must be addressed case by case and in the end the result is very flattering, even to rework recordings from old vinyl records.

I hit a little bit of everything for mastering and can not afford to invest in hardware to the height I was still on my hunger. In discussing at a formaiton the mix with a sound engineer I found this little app is worth spending time on it. This is the final touch that brings a lot to the mix and can give real credibility to a record amateur.See less20 - zitounchichenPublished on 08/03/06 at 04:02 (This content has been automatically translated from French)Well, in Windows XP PC, it goes without any problems ...

on the other hand it is necessary to know what you do because if you put it all back, ca does not work (big sat).
So it takes a little knowledge and a good ear for the setting of each master ... and there ... it sounds extremely good.

It was as easy as any plug-in I have installed before. The configuration of the plug-in takes a bit of getting used to, only because the plug-in is packed with a few different signal processors and each one has its own unique parameters. That being said, everything is laid out in a nice order and the interface is very user friendly. The VU meters and the EQ graph are both easy to follow and very helpful. I've never looked at the manual before as I didn't have any problems with installation and was able to figure out the plug-in as a whole pretty easily.

I am running the plug-in on a Mac Book Pro with a 2.2 Ghz processor and 4 GB of RAM. I have been using it in Pro Tools 7.4 with a Digi 002 rack as an audio interface and monitoring with Yamaha NS-10s. I am getting good performance from it while only using it on the master fader. Beyond that I'm not sure how well it will run, but keep in mind it is obviously a mastering plug-in and is not really intended for use beyond the master fader.
OVERALL OPINION
I've had the T-Racks Mastering Software for about a year. It is a really convenient and quick way to master mixes. The plug-in is reasonably priced and has an equalizer, a tube compressor, and a multi-band limiter. It also has sections for output leveling, presets, fading in and out and setting it to either mono or stereo. I like this mastering suite better than Izotope Ozone as I think the signal processing is more realistic and authentic, and while it is a bit more expensive than the Ozone, I think it is worth the price. Overall I like this plug-in as a cheap, all in the box option for quick and easy mastering that can add a lot to your mixes.See less00
