UTILIZATION
The touch keyboard is certainly not a nice key travel halved, but this trick that allows the PCR-1 as one of the finest keyboard on the market and the only one that is truly portable I think.
I confess never to use the pots on board, however, that the keys make sense to replace the wheels are really ergonomic.
For its part, the audio interface is not super quality (background noise audible through headphones) and a clear lack of input / output format Jack (CAN, grrrr) ...
OVERALL OPINION
Again, the first interest of the PCR-1 is a portable hand: I slip it in a small backpack with my laptop and it is composed of nickel to tinker 5m ² in a ski resort . In addition, other keyboards (Oxygen, for example) are just 'transport', making a real difference ...
The only one that seems to me to compare or even surpass it on paper, the Behringer clone that made it even though I could not try it: what in fact the strength of the Behringer to a time when my PCR-1 seems pretty good old ...
In short, if you want a small keyboard to take anywhere, you may be more to your case about it on the toys of Akai. After that, I find it unfortunate that the product has been discontinued. I guess that Behringer is the only competing in this field ...
